Some months after your post: I’ve been at an impasse on the design I would like after 1.5 years going back and forth! (I am on your text list) Possibly the rubber cane tip will become the deciding factor. We do over 50% of our “stick use” on irregular and off-chamber terrain requiring a tip that is sloped on the side with a griping design. Both our local and world travel, hiking, etc. forces us to deal with, sometimes, very complicated decisions in “stick” placement for me to maintain balance including significant off-chamber terrain sloping upwards and downwards, left, and right, placing between cracks in concrete and rocks, etc. It’s surprising even in urban use with our deteriorating infrastructure, I have to overcome these hurtles and when communities fail to provide sidewalks (such as my city where I'm legally denied access to city services because of no sidewalls and have to walk on slopes). Access that should be ADA compliant is not so, even by the FL State Department of Transportation Administrative Rules. So the bottom line is the need for a rubber tip that is versatile similar to professional backpacking, mountaineering hiking sticks but without a metal spike (an issue with international travel in some countries such as China). My current best practices design is from LEKI on a carbon fiber model called the “Legend” (the grip is terrible) It’s been the best tip design I have ever used over many years and has never fallen off. Your current designs will not work.
