So GM is rebadging the Camaro and Corvette under the Pontiac name. Variety is the spice of life I suppose. I hope they actually do it. These are nice renders.

The renderings are all over the place as either a variation of the new Corvette or the now discontinued Camaro, with a Pontiac logo pasted on to it. What would really be awesome, is a modern recreation of the original Pontiac GTO, which was based on the same body type as a Chevelle. Bring something like that back and throw in some high performance options. It doesn’t need to be a new Corvette.

Pontiac is, and has been, dead since the fiasco with their version of the last GTO. Ford had released the retro styled Mustang to positive acclaim. Chevy had released the retro styled Camaro to positive acclaim. Dodge had yet to release the Charger, but there was talk and people were excited, yet what they released as the new Charger was nothing but a coupe version of the Magnum wagon, and was a fail. Dodge was lucky, though. They quickly hit the drawing boards and released the retro styled Challenger, to positive acclaim. Though the "new" GTO was released before Dodge's two experiments, Pontiac failed miserably. So miserably that there was no coming back from that. The new "GTO" was not so new after all. It was an old vehicle from their GM Holden division in Australia, and it was called the G6. Pontiac took a car that had already been in production, rebranded it, and called it the "NEW" GTO. As if no automobile enthusiast would ever find out. Well, they did, in very short notice, and it sank Pontiac. Had Pontiac called that the new Grand Am GT, it may have survived. Or, they could have called it the new Grand Prix GT. Both of those cars were already similar to the Holden G6, and the public could have easily accepted either one of those options. But, corporate greed and ineptness made them use the GTO name. In the magazines, Pontiac bragged that this was a completely different vehicle than what was available in Australia. They bragged that they had changed 26 components to make it the new GTO. What 26 new components? Screws, bolts and washers? Regardless, it was destined to fail. It's as if they learned nothing, and knew nothing, from their own history of how the GTO came to be in the first place. Pontiac will not be coming back. As with every car manufacturer in the USA today, there is much too much red tape and decisions from people who are not automobile enthusiasts. That is why the Japanese could enter the US truck market, of which they had no experience, and crush some of the older and more established US auto manufacturers. Should Pontiac be brought back to life, the only chance it will have to succeed will be if GM puts car lovers, car enthusiasts, just car people in general, in charge. But, they won't, because they believe that simply by virtue of their position, that they are more intelligent, that they have more insight, and that they already know what we want. They will just be doomed to fail once more. We don't want a Fiero that catches on fire from overheating during regular driving. We don't want another ugly as sin Aztec. We don't want a G6 rebranded as a "new" GTO. I say all of this as a lover of Pontiac. I own a 1965 GTO, and two 1976 Trans Am's. My brother owns a 1962 Grand Prix. Now, as far as the vehicle depicted in this video as the all "new" GTO, I see none of the heritage that made the GTO what is was. Once again, this will be another fail on Pontiac's part.

I’m sorry but to little too late it’s not a GTO it’s a cheap copy of the corvette that isn’t going to be cheap, recreate the 1965 GTO a American muscle car and not a copy of a grease ball car from Italy

For the price of this so called GTO you could buy an original in great condition. Owned 3 GTOs (1964, '68 and '70). A need for speed.
