You have got to check out Awakening, Soulbound, Cleanse the Bloodlines, and Apex should all be on your list! Awakening was the first UtA track I ever heard and was one of the few times I have felt legit mind blown in years.

Power metal band from Vancouver. Awakening is their song that a lot of reactors start with. Lead singer Brittney Slayes (Hayes) sang a song on the latest from Star One. Star One being another project of Arjen Lucassen (Ayreon)

Couple cool videos from this band - Northwest Passage and General of the Dark Army, both great songs as well.

You guessed it! The Stephen King short story is what this video is based on! Well done- your the first reaction video I’ve seen to get that- Glad you enjoyed it……they truly are a phenomenal, humble and hilarious band, and just as amazing live! Cheers!

Their videos are always entertaining one way or another, though "Awakening" is a traditional in-studio kind of video. The dude playing the bass in the video has an unusual plucking style, like he's more stroking the strings with his thumb than actually plucking it. He's the only person I've seen play like that. UTA has a video on their channel of Brittney singing karaoke after a show in Edinburgh, Scotland, and she chooses Queensryche's "Queen of the Reich." It's a pretty damn impressive performance and a surprisingly good recording.

Brittney just slayes (like that's never been done before), such a powerhouse, abyss was my favourite album of 2020, it should have taken uta to the next level, bloody COVID stopped them touring it.

The bassist from that album actually played the bass like a banjo. It is a very interesting way to play a bass indeed.

I think that's pretty much how I play bass, really. Thumb and index finger..... I had a friend that was watching me play guitar asked if I ever played banjo because of the way I played guitar. It's really just a bastard mix of bass, fingerstyle guitar, and being self taught with no one to tell you to stop it!

I was skeptical at first, but I can easily say they are my #1 band all time (personal choice). Between their music and how nice and genuine they all are, they absolutely rock! As you can see in my profile photo, they care about their fans and are just as good live as they are in their recordings. Highly recommend diving into the Apex and Abyss albums.

Nice "Long Walk" reference - my favourite novel as a teenager, which may give an idea of what kind of teenager I was...released under the pseudonym Richard Bachman in case any one's looking for it. Personally I'm not really into the major turns either or generally Power Metal, but UTA are obviously super-talented and can happily listen to them from time to time.

Glen Hansard 2 weeks ago and now Unleash the Archers, you have a great taste Tyler. As for S. King i liked his stort stories more thannovels (for example i count Rita Hayworth and Shawshank Redemption as a short story) from hi big books i loved Needful things and Bag of a bones is the one that i recomend as a first S.King experience

UtA use major keys or completely different music styles to tell story. This song is chapter 16 of a 20 chapter, 2 album epic storyline written by Brittney. You don't need to know the story to enjoy any song as they all stand alone BUT some choices are made because of its place in the story. UtA's dedication to the concept album is refreshing in this day and age. You could also try Tonight We Ride next to see Brittney unleashed. She is one of a kind.
