This looks like a lovely way to visit the Bordeaux region. We took an ocean cruise of the region some years back with Crystal (Southhampton embarkation, stopping at several locations in the Bordeaux region, then ending in Lisbon. While we enjoyed it, we docked or anchored quite far from everything and so our only option was to do an excursion (usually one a coach), and so we weren’t able to see as much as you did here. You have inspired us to revisit the area on a river cruise.

Thanks for watching and yes, while certain sized ocean ships can get into Bordeaux (there was Hapag Lloyd Europa in there when we were there, a river ship can really get you into the heart of these little towns and they have bikes too, so you just hop on and go off exploring at your own pace. Fantastic! :D

The video and audio quality of this video are nothing short of exceptional, solid work! I've been wanting to take a river cruise, but have no idea where to begin. However, I will continue to live through you guys till I decide!

Another wonderful vlog! It’s been 4-5 years since we’ve been to France (went most summers with our caravan -now sold) , you have whetted my appetite to return on/in a new mode of transport! We’ve only done ocean cruising so far.

Thanks for the video. Bordeaux is a great place to visit, especially the left bank. We have made several trips and it is always fun. There is a great B & B within walking distance of St. Emilion run by an English couple which is worth a stay called Pavillion Villemaurine. We also enjoyed the bar at the top of the Cit De Vin which offers great views and a glass of wine included in the admission price of the museum.

Cheers Paul. It's a great cruise and itinerary and all the wines served are from the region. couldn't get much better to be honest. :)

Uniworld are just marvellous.we went on a more "subdued" cruise ship. Lovely creams and browns etc. One of our best holidays. Amsterdam to Istanbul 💕

They are just lovely. Next weekend, we'll be on SS Sphinx in Egypt! Keep an eye open, the decor on that ship is, well, more Egyptian than Egypt! :D

So much good info! I would like to travel to Aix en Provence and am functionally uninterested in Paris. My husband says Paris would be worth it for the art museums but I am not convinced 😂

Paris is OK, but Bordeaux is just more comfortable to visit, feels safer, is smaller and the history is almost as enriching. It's a mini Paris! :D

Brown river? Come.to Australia. Many rivers are often 'brown' for the same reason -they wash down lots of silt.
