    Did u or any of your friends join FLCs or Ones programs? If so do you think it was beneficial and in what way? Also is it possible to keep up with extra curriculars/ side projects with the work load at U of T (I’m going into the CS stream).

  • @RichardHan

    @RichardHan

    4 жыл бұрын

    Great question, so I was part of FLC program (but not ones programs) and I thought it was pretty beneficial. It gives you tips on how to survive your first year and it also gives you free food sometimes. Its a great way to meet more people in your program and get to know more upper year students. I also managed to keep up with school while serving as the first year representative of my college and an intern for RCSA. So I think if you manage your time well you can keep up with both extracurricular activities and school (but you might have to give up your social life😂😂). I hope I was able to answer your questions and if you have any further questions please let me know. I wish the best of luck to you in the future!

  • @RichardHan

    @RichardHan

    4 жыл бұрын

    I am not quite sure if being an international student puts you in a disadvantage in selection process. I would guess it's the same amount of difficulty for both international and domestic students to get accepted and as far as I know IB definitely helps you when you are studying because you can get a transfer credit and you will already know some of the materials you will learn in university. I don't know if doing an IB will improve your chances of getting accepted but as I said it really helps when you are actually studying at the university. Just like you I started looking at different options ever since I got into high school, and I can tell you that it will all make sense one day. Great question, so its possible for someone to switch into another program and its also possible for them to take other courses that are not part of their current program. However some courses you might want to take might give "priority enrollment" to students who are actually in the program so keep in mind of that (At least for Rotman there are certain courses that are restricted to other students). I know a friend who was in Rotman but planned on switching into CS, and he was able to take all the CS courses he wanted. Make sure to check if the program you want to switch into has any prerequisites. I hope I was able to answer your questions and if you have any further questions please let me know. @@BronzeCheng Great question, so as I mentioned above it's possible for someone to switch into another program and its also possible for them to take other courses that are not part of their current program. However some courses you might want to take might give "priority enrollment" to students who are actually in the program so keep in mind of that (At least for Rotman there are certain courses that are restricted to other students). Make sure to check if the program you want to switch into has any prerequisites. I hope this helped and If you have any further questions please let me know. I wish the best of luck to you in the future!

    Great question, however since all my friends and I are domestic students we are not too sure how much ielts exam will matter. So I would highly recommend you to contact the university about this. I am sorry that I couldn't answer your question but if you have any other questions please let me know. I wish the best of luck to you in the future!

    Hi, I am thinking of applying to U of T this fall and my GPA from grade 9 to grade 11 (currently i am in grade 11) is about 94-95 and I took a total of 4 APs, I was wondering if that GPA is competitive enough to get into U of T or do I need higher grades to get into U of T?

    Great question, I certainly think you have a great chance of getting into UofT in terms off marks. With that being said I would first like to recommend that you watch my other video "How I got into University of Toronto & UBC". When you watch that video, you will realize grades aren't the only thing you should care about. Your grades are fantastic and by looking at your grades I can guess that you have great extracurricular activities as well. Everything will make more sense after watching that video. I hope I was able to answer your questions and if you have any further questions please let me know. I wish the best of luck to you in the future!
