One of the faster-paced matches, 19 Qs + 6 misses, thanks to Paxman's quick reading of the loooooong questions and Keble's quick 'Pass'ing. Keble: 12 starters with pretty proficient Pasternack on 7, Green 3 and Player 2. Atkinson would have done well to think about answers instead of looking to team-mates for them. She also lost 3x5 points for incorrect interruptions. Bonus conversion rate 49%. I was a tad disappointed that they sucked bigtime on my fave topic, 'Bears in Heraldry' :P East Anglia: 7 starters with fantastic Forde-Roberts on 5, Bellamy & Walker 1 each. Bcr 48%. Kudos to Paxman for awarding EA the 'Mond(r)ian' points.

Forde-Roberts from Essex did not get one answer wrong, proving an exception to the rule (Essex Girl) Jeremy Paxman gets a five point penalty for continuing questions after someone has buzzed in. This practice gives extra information to the team that buzzed in too early and is therefore totally unfair!

Finally, after 48 series. Maybe there'll be another such battle in series 96. They're bound to come along once in a while. It always amazes me to see women celebrating coming 2nd place in a two horse race.

Is it just me or have there been a lot of underwhelming teams this season? Was not terribly impressed with either team here. The amount of wrong answers - or unanswered questions - was almost as frequent as correct ones.

Thank you from us.....the speed is less important than the fact that it happens. The BBC's stupid new rules so that we can't even use a proxy have made us impotent in watching the only programme we like, well apart from only connect.

Every once in a very blue moon, the women do better. People comment on it because when it happens.....it's news. It's out of the ordinary, and feminists still try to make it out as some sort of vindication for women. Always makes me chuckle.
