University Accommodation Room Tour | NOVA Student Accommodation, Nottingham, NTU/UON.
Hey! This is where I stayed for my first year of university, in this video you get to see my room and the facilities that are provided throughout the rest of the accommodation:)
I hope you enjoy this tour, I am still getting used to editing and I am really enjoying it so far!
Feel free to drop any questions down below.
*I did miss one entertainment/social room out as to go in there you need a special access key because that room is for booked events (such as parties), but it is essentially the same size as the other social/study spaces.

beautiful accommodation
I’m looking at accommodation here for next year. Was there a big price different between the shared kitchen and a suite with your own? X
@JadeGabrielle
3 жыл бұрын
Yes from what I remember it worked out significantly cheaper for me to share a kitchen with someone else so it was my best option, especially as this accommodation is already more expensive compared to some other student halls in Nottingham. However, I do recommend this accommodation because I loved how modern and fresh it is, giving you the luxury that other halls often lack. The prices do tend to change each academic year so just keep checking on their website xx
Where would you store your suitcases?
THANK YOU
Sis what accommodation is this!! I’m starting next year hopefully 🙏🏽

I’m looking at getting this accom!! How strict are they on visitors ? As my boyfriend is going to loughborough and he plans on coming up a bit? Also is there parking nearby and can you get a permit?
@JadeGabrielle

Awh how cute my boyfriend also had to travel from Loughborough whilst I was at NOVA! There is not parking at NOVA but there are nearby car parks that you can pay for and yes I do believe you could get a permit but these are all things you'd have to research (perhaps try on Nottingham City Council websites). Goodluck!x
hey girl, Im starting uni at ntu in september and Im looking into accommodation. I keep seeing that private accommodation looks SO much nicer but Im worried it won't have the same social aspect for first years and the parties and stuff, what do you think? any advice?? xxx

Hey! I have answered something similar in a previous question and wrote this: In all honesty I do think that university own accommodation is more social for freshers because they have university reps who try to get everyone involved. However, I still managed to meet lovely people at NOVA but it did take a bit longer I would say. When I was at NOVA there was a Facebook & WhatsApp group chat made where I could socialise with people. If you do end up in private accommodation like I was, my one tip is to be as confident as you can be and reach out to others even if it is something you are afraid of doing, as I wish I had done it sooner xx

In addition, I would say deffo try to join as much clubs/societies as you can because they really are a great way to meet people with similar interests as you (in my first year I did cheerleading and met great girls). Also put yourself out there, one time I went to a party all by myself (which is something I would never have done before uni) and I met one of my closest uni friends from the party - I may do a video on this topic soon xx

does a lot of first year students stay at Nova? because I am considering it as an accommodation for September
@JadeGabrielle

From my experience it was an equal mix of all the year groups. They tend to make you share a kitchen with someone that is in your year group so that helps/ you cold even request that you want to be near first years and I am sure they would accommodate you!

Of course, there are students of all ages there! I am going into my third year and had I not already had somewhere else to live, I'd of happily moved back into NOVA!:)
How much do you pay for your tuition, rent and how much do you spend monthly for allowance.
@JadeGabrielle
3 жыл бұрын
In the UK tuition is normally the same for everyone (as of recently that is £9,250 per year). The rent for this accommodation was around £156 p/wk (but I cannot remember the exact figure and I know that the prices for this accommodation have since increased). In regards to your last question I will make a video on budgeting and spending at University as soon as I can , so stay tuned :)
hey babe, im looking to join NTU next year, when do I starting buying my accommodation? x
@JadeGabrielle
3 жыл бұрын
Hey girl! I'd say most first years start to get accommodation from about January, normally they go pretty fast in Nottingham so I'd recommend not waiting until super last minute. However, now with COVID it may not be as much as a rush, but deffo keep up to date with NTU as I'm sure they'll be giving recommendations regarding the next academic year and I wish you the best of luck with your uni application!xx
Has anyone applied for Nova for September 2021-2022?

Hey Megan, yes i have booked for September 2021-2022. Youre from UoN or NTU?
Are there students from UoN living in Nova too? Or is it just NTU?
@JadeGabrielle
3 жыл бұрын
I’d say there is both! Probably more NTU students as it’s only a 5 minute walk from the city campus. However, there are definitely a few UoN students as it’s private accommodation so not owned by NTU.
Hey girl! Absolutely loved the video, I was just wondering what this accommodation falls under? Is it a 2 bed en-suite as you’re only sharing a kitchen with one other person!
@JadeGabrielle

Hey girl, thanks for watching! When I moved in it was called a linked studio. However, I just checked the website and I believe it is now the '2 bed ensuite' option - if you are interested just enquire with them to be sure though! Hope this helps ☺x

Where did you put your luggage/suitcase when you moved in?

Is there still a social aspect in nova, such as accommodation events and such that you would get with a university own accommodation? X

3 жыл бұрын
@@JadeGabrielle Do you think it might be more diverse than UON? X
@JadeGabrielle
3 жыл бұрын
@@mariaonafowokan7521 I think statistically perhaps maybe a little bit more however, I don’t want to speak on behalf of UON as I have never really went around the campus and properly considered it. But to mention, it is also quite common that the different communities (for example the black community) all socialise throughout the year regardless of whether you are from NTU or UON especially before COVID was a thing because you’d regularly see everyone in the city centre at clubs xx
