Ironically in russian localisation they managed to mess it up by calling it "Reaper". По иронии в русском переводе они умудрились потерять отслыку, назвав его "жнецом"

Friendly reminder: You can (and should) use leech beam on your sickles prior to grinding, so when you grind not only you get your money back, you get a free anti infantry upgrade on your Hammer Tank. Its not terrificly useful, but if you suck with micro managing during fights, that tiny bit of dps is better than no extra dps.

Sickles used to confused the hell out of me when I first played lol, I didn't understand unit counter back then and would jump teams of my "cool super terror drones" into enemy tanks.

Would have worked fine if they were Tengus Also the game's codes seem to suggest that Sickle jump was at one point meant to damage vehicles as well. There is a filter preventing nearby friendly Sickles from being damaged by the leap landing, for instance.

5:15 I think Bullfrogs are better. Their cost and production time are the same, but they can also be used for defense. Though Sickles can reach the Grinder a bit faster.

uh true! You can also pump out bullfrgos from naval yards that are WAY cheaper than factories. Wonder why I've only seen the technique being done with Sickles until now

Nice. Sickles could do with an extra feature but I'm not sure how it could help them late game. The corrosive explosion being a unit wide upgrade, an terror drone as standard, or self repair immediately leapt to mind

3:30 just the kind of corner cases I really like to know about.

sickle has always been funny to me, im so glad theyre on steam now, i can confidently abandon origin forever, and maybe ill get better mod support this time, since modding via origin was a pain in the ass. good video dude, im happy this franchise still gets love (except 4, you know what you did wrong...)

Hammer and Sickle for true combination

Ah i love just sacrificing Sickles to the grinder. Since they fill one more role on late game for me. Give hammer tanks a nice anti infantry cheap secondary weapon (tesla coil from stingray is still the best secondary a hammer tank can get though in terms of anti ground secondary)

@@xyhc-cnc yeah the hammer and sickle upgrade is very decent at anti infantry and gives hammers a chance against Tanya but it's sad that it's still overshadowed by the tesla hammer for anti infantry and double hammer for just pure damage.

This should be the cheapest anti infantry ground unit IDK why did the devs made it expensive

They are great for killing Yuriko without taking any loss. By chaining the jumps they can stunlock and gun her down before she can get up.

"without taking any loss" Sickles are airborned when jumping. Yuriko OHKO air units. (Less you timed jumps so that Yuriko gets knocked over by a second Sickle before the first one dies in midair. I've never seen it but it should be possible?)

@@xyhc-cnc If you drop them while she is attacking something else she probably can't switch targets fast enough. But even then you'll at most lose the first sickle If you drop the first two simultaneously. I have tried it, it works. But you need at least 4 sickles for this if 3 sickles jump in you might still lose one when she wakes up from the stun.

Always build a few and its almost always a one way trip.

Pro tip: design your mechanized combat vehicles like spiders, to invoke a seizure of arachnophobia, so þat your opponent flees due to it. Soviets were up to sth. Wiþ þat design ngl.

All those spider vehicles are just meant to evoke hatred from Ackerman

Sickles are my favourites units in uspring (bad english sorry) Whit reapers Those Brothers Are too good even that the reaper Counter tanks while sickles counters infantry Also air is not safe

It's a fun anti-infantry vehicle to use. It is no Mecha Tengu unfortunately.

Perhaps this unit would be better if the grinder treads upgrade severely reduced the jump's cooldown, so that it could possibly have some extra utility late game, being able to actually hop across terrain with the jump (like you've shown in infinity isle), recover quickly enough to hop onto a refinery to harass harvs and then jump out and out again once discovered, this, I think, would fully realize the intended gameplay design of the unit.

so what unit is next up in the guide? Also the sickle's jump range is 10 construction squares before it has to move and the cooldown is 10 seconds.

As a kid I thought Sickles are lazy because they never use the 3rd gun when ordered to attach. It annoyed me to no end.

Idk if I'm making things up on accident or not, but I do recall Flea Jump being able to instacrush light vehicles and any infantry except Tesla Troopers and Cryos. Maybe confusing them with Reapers from Uprising, idk

It definitely can't crush vehicles, and cryo legionnaires are from uprising. I also used to think it can crush infantry though, but I guess I was wrong.

Buggy, nerfed, and fundamentally inferior by too questionable design downsides, my favourite combination! Otherwise extremely cool as a concept, imagine if Battlefield had something like this.
