Unique Sustainable Home Built with Nearly 100% Natural Materials - Green Building Tour
Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль
The Eagleyew house is a beautifully sculpted custom green home built with nearly 100% natural materials! The light clay walls are made with a mixture of clay and straw, and the timber frame structure is built using wood from the property. There is a wraparound living roof, and the interior has earthen cob floors and natural plasters.
This house has three heat sources, including a passive solar design, a masonry stove, and an annualized geo solar system. There are also three solar hot water panels on the roof, a well for fresh water, a septic system for waste, and the house is connected to the grid for electricity.
In this video, Ezio, the owner, gives us a full tour, and he’s also going to share some of the challenges he’s encountered while building and living in this alternative energy-efficient home.

Fascinating!! This guy is living my dream. I hope to craft my own home like this some day. This was a beautifully produced episode! Great editing!
My God, this is indeed a true masterpiece of beauty, talent, craftsmanship, ingenuity, especially heart & soul. Ezio understands the relationship between nature, energy, creation & mysticism. I'd love to visit this magical marvel.

Anybody else getting an immensely strong fey-vibe from this amazing person? Just... a somewhat non-mortal forest being, extremely well-versed and careful in picking their words, adept at many crafting / building things and learned about a lot.

He already said he's gonna replace the roof in 30/40 years so hes gonna be here for a while
This house is, as he said, “a masterpiece”. He is an artist who brought his dream to life. I loved the view where you can’t tell which steps are going up and which are going down! I paused the video there, and sure enough! I couldn’t tell! That bowled me over, thinking that he had planned that long before the building stage!
The house is magical. It's like music. It combines art, science and spiritual.

Wow. Inspirational. I am 55 and hesitating to move into the boonies and build my own tiny home. Because why? Because I keep thinking I will die soon. And here is this guy older than me and talking about how he would need to change his roof in 30 or 40 years time.

If you act like your life is already over... it is. Continue to live your dreams until you no longer can. Then make new dreams. Good luck!
My kind of house, filled with books.
I remember a line from the movie Bravehaeart "Every men dies, not every man really lives" I am happy to see this man is one of the latest. Awesome work.
I would say this is the perfect home for this person’s character. I’m sure he’s very proud of himself. Carry on.
This house is very impressive. The owner being a carpenter, he added much of his craftmanship to the woodwork, countertops and furniture pieces. The owner is a Renaissance man as he is very knowledgeable about many different things and appreciates the environment. too.
Absolutely incredible, so artistic and smart! This man is a wonderful artist with multiple talents. You are so lucky to have a chance to meet him. A video that I will never forget! Thanks so much.

Thanks so much Jocelyne for the wonderful comment :)
This is one of the most beautiful, wholesome earth builds/conscious homes that I have seen. What an impressive Human! Ezio is a man after my own heart: natural building, wood, crop circles, making stone cairns, making of tinctures and essential oils, Findhorn, meditation, healing and books...I could hardly believe it... I had a look at the retreat/sanctuary; Eaglenest which is wonderful and in located in a magical forest
Beautiful. His honesty was great about what’s gone wrong/what he loves. The design is great. His own wood working is very impressive. His whole sphere theme he has reminds me of Edward Gorey’s love of rocks throughout his house.
This is wonderful, his house, his story, and him. Wonderful, thoughtful and beautiful. So much hidden detail. I live in Ontario and this type of house is also what I hope to achieve in the next decade. Thank you
Amazing concept...we Indians are very much used to mud and cob houses since time immemorial...but making it nature efficient is a great step towards worshipping and conserving mother nature...leaving less footsteps n more wisdom for our future generation...
My deepest compliments to the Owner/ Architect of this GORGEOUS COB HOUSE... Sir, you have been the most helpful as to explaining the entire process of this Beautiful Home.. TY
I love how his house is an extension of him and his passions.
Not sure what to say to this. Every platitude would fall short, which is what any comment would be from me, at this time. I'm just glad I subscribe to this channel - but what a beautiful home! So well considered, and executed, and probably irreplaceable. I'm glad it will be around a long, long, time.
I could not be more in love with his home and land. This is so idyllic and inspiring
Besides of all the good technical ideas to make this house eco-friendly, this is simply the most beautiful house I have ever seen.
I love a guy who can admit to mistakes. This guy is special, for sure!
Love the heating idea
Love this! It's like a more refined but still earth friendly earth ship home! Love that water heating system, too!

This guy apparently is multidimensional; with all he does he experiences 29 hour days! For real he is living my life. Definitely goals. Mine will be more cyberpunk themed with some of that spiritual stuff embedded into it too along with some glittery magical things sprinkled in too :)
love the concept for his 'truth window'
As an artist and a designer, his story is very inspiring on so many levels! Great episode! Thank you.
This man is so genius i want to be his daughter so he can teach me everything he knows. His so talented as we can see he have a lot of books he makes his own perfume too.

This is amazing. That AGS system blew my mind. I have no idea how the heat just chills out underground for 5 months and decides to come up in the winter. Good job summer heat I’m proud of you for coming up when it’s cold out of the ground like a beautiful zombie or warm justice.

AGS works in much the same way as Passive Annual Heat Storage. Because earthen mass is a slow 'semi' conductor of thermal energy, we can evoke a desired lag effect. The trick here in the we{s}t coast is to insulate the ground under the house and isolate it from ground water table that rises during our winter mega-rain storms.
Glad to see that a cochlear implant (right side) makes life easier for you. The property is fabulous. Thanks for sharing the majesty of your world.
Great find. So nice of the gentleman to share his home with the world. I wonder what music sounds like in there as it's one large timber speaker box.
He seems so humble, and his honesty was simply refreshing. I appreciate that very much. Thanks for sharing. For me personally one of the best videos you ever published.

I have seen many ecological builds and houses but I am so mesmerised by this one and by this man's lifestyle. It is absolutely beautiful, doesn't miss anything and it has such a calming atmosphere.
So magical! What an absolutely beautiful home...I hope one day to have a home like this
Omg the dragon !!! Amazing!
What a cool house! Ezio seems a really interesting guy too. Love the house, the style and thought that's gone into it. The alpacas are so cute too
Neat house. Has a propane stove. Big one. Those 3 solar panels can't heat the water during low sun days.

Beautiful and brilliantly designed home.
I just love the sun room! Excellent work all together!
Incredible.
The most beautiful and thoughtful house i have ever come across. Just love it!!! 😍
Wow so impressive! Congratulations! So many people don't even know the value of South, East and West! The house I share was mass produced and the trim is cardboard/press-wood; it retains water and mold. So many houses I've seen being built are falling apart as they build them. Home buyers really need to educate themselves, and foreign ownership of multiple properties in Canada needs to stop.
This creation is a credit to your wholistic and environmental 'dream come true'..... thank you for sharing your beautiful and dedicated works🥰❤
Incredible man, his house is art.
This video was one of the best I have watched. What a fascinating man who has created such a unique home. I only wish the tour & video lasted longer. I would enjoy seeing more of this home and hearing more about it.
I am absolutely enchanted!
Love everything about this! Solar hot water for electricity or hot water is great, comparable electric output to photovoltaic solar panel, but longer life span and no dangerous minerals needed!
Wow this is probably one of my favorite videos! So many things I saw made me think: Yes! That's what I want to learn, or how I would want to build, or what I would want to do
This man is awesome and so is his house!
This may sound strange but this house is a mess. I say that in a good way! alot of these home tours have houses that look staged or straight off the manufacture floor. This house looks lived in and I appreciate he didn't attempt to remove the lived in look. this gives a better idea of how the house really functions. where they spend the most time. where items tend to collect. as a person who plans on building their own home in the near future these are the kind of videos i enjoy watching! lovely home and lovely video. kudos!

What a magical place!! That dragon is amazing!!
I love these videos. It’s really cool to hear older people speak about their homes and experiences. I want to homestead and live sustainably like this.
As I plan my own forever home, I notice many homeowners in these videos have so much in common: 1. exceedingly passionate 2. spent 15+ years perfecting their home 3. lonely ('my son used to live here' 'my first wife built this with me' 'I rent the house and live in the tinyhome/workshop nearby') AKA, men convinced they are islands. Clearly, we must build a sustainable communities to surround our sustainable homes. 50 acres and a mansion won't help anyone.
