Union Pacific Yard Transfer Train in Central El Paso, with a Twist. Read Below:
In case you're wondering what the train dispatcher was talking about (at 1:09). On this day my good friend and I were railfanning. We had an Eastbound manifest stopped on Main 1. Before this transfer train showed up, my friend and I witnessed to what appeared to be a homeless young man walking next to the other side of the stopped train. As he walked along, he started fire to the dry brush next to the stopped train. He continued setting the brush on fire for about the last 5 car lengths, crossed the tracks and disappeared. We immediately call the El Paso Fire Department to report the fire. The fire spread to trees next to an abandoned warehouse. This caused the Fire Lieutenant to call out for additional equipment in case the warehouse caught fire. Fortunately the brush fire was contained. No major damage to building or track.
