UNION PACIFIC HIGH BRIDGE and RAIL YARD DRONE VIEWS! FAST freight trains on the CLINTON SUB MP140!!

07/15/2023 Fort Dodge, Ia. This old CGW high bridge has been rolling freight since 1903! The UP still runs trains on this bridge, about one a day. Eagle Grove, Ia. This CNW caboose appears to have a fairly fresh paint job and original reporting marks!

Greetings Red: Great Video. Nice to see trains moving in your neck of the woods. With the strike taking place at the Port Of Vancouver B.C. Train traffic has slowed to a crawl, nothing is moving, in the past week we've had one train go by. It was mixed, no containers they are all in Vancouver and on the ships in the harbour. Those sealed gondolas are carrying contaminated dirty dirt. I really enjoy your video's and your drone footage. Excellent coverage from the ground and from the air. 🍁♂🏳‍🌈🌟✨🌟✨🌟

This is the first video that I have seen of the former Chicago Great Western High Bridge in Ft. Dodge, Iowa. When I saw the brief description of this video about a Union Pacific High Bridge, my first thought was the Kate Shelley Bridge. I was not aware of the High Bridge in Ft. Dodge. The Eagle Grove, Iowa Yard is a wonderful place to view with a drone. It looks like Union Pacific has a lot of business at the Eagle Grove Yard. Your railfanning in Montour, Iowa was filled with many trains. The mixed freight trains had a good variety of different freight cars. The intermodal trains are usually not that interesting to watch because each intermodal train usually has the same container cars as the last intermodal train. I enjoyed watching this video and thank you very much for the drone footage of the High Bridge in Ft. Dodge, Iowa.

I've seen photos from near when it was built through today as the view doesn't really change. There is something special about the middle set of supports where it looks like Eiffel Tower supports. Very nice to see it in its entirety as some brush is growing up. 3 grain trains in a row is amazing and the surprise of a KCS unit which got to pull a former KCS (now COER) covered Hopper. A lot of empty gondolas going east probably for those three steel or aluminum slabs. Gon 2 was a black CNW car Those trains really kept blasting through and one train did have a higher-than-average # of contaminated soil cars as well as small dumpsters. In fact that 2 piece spine car near the end of the last W B train is for those little dumpsters. Great meet with the eastbound to wrap things up. Cant forget to say hi to the Furry Friends and when you photographed them you had just let them out as you could see their marks in the dew in the grass. Very nice items great tape. PS. If this is true in the next week or so Yellow Freight System May declare bankruptcy and or quit operations which will be odd considering how many trailers we see almost every tape

The old CGW went line went northeast from Ft Dodge to Eagle Grove where it crossed the CNW. From there it continued on to Clarion where the line diverged heading east to Olewein then on to Chicago. The other line ran northeast to Mason City and on into Minnesota and the Twin Cities. From the air the bridge does look spindly. Drive one of the city streets that pass right next to the piers and get close look at the red granite foundation and iron work and you’ll see how substantial it is.

I'd say 3to5 a day on average. That high bridge may see one a day.

There is a battery life gauge on the controller Mike. The drone will actually return on it's own if it gets too low.

23:02 they are for hauling trash. I don't like the idea of a train hauling trash. It's rarely uniformly loaded, there's no way to tell what's in it with 100% accuracy- what will the manifest say? "Garbage"? It could contain hidden hazmat that's not declared, unless it's been sorted honestly, I doubt it balances well, and really, dead material that has no further use doesn't belong on a train.

I'm not big on garbage trains either. Tells me there are a lot of full landfills out there.
