TJ - It's good to have you back on the BA channel, your riding style is just so fluid. I think it was smart to go from stiff to loose, going the other way would make it a lot harder to trick. Nice fiming btw! Keep 'em coming!

Hey dude! love the reviews and the commentary. this season finally gonna buy my first NEW pair of bindings and love the way union look but totally love the functionality of my old flow bindings. Tryna do mostly park but also want to have that all mountain versatility when carving. Would you mind doing review of the flow fusion bindings or Nx2 bindings that would be amazing since no other channels really does an in depth view. much love can't wait for more reviews!

It's a late reply but this last season I bought a new pair of NX2 Hybrids, the first day I spent the whole day trying to get them set up right, the rest of my week in the Alps I was having a huge headache trying to get them set up. Sometimes they felt okay but I kept getting heal lift and it was fucking up my toe edge. Now putting them up for sale and going to buy the Falcors instead. Flow aren't bad bindings but they aren't for me at all.

Seeing you have a bataleon would it be farfetched to assume youve ridden switchback bindings at some point? I'm retiring my old SB and wondering how they compare. Is the Strata too sloppy in comparison? I'm a pretty aggressive all mountain freestyle rider and never shy from park laps. Is the extra hundred worth it to get the middle ground Atlas for that style riding?

I'm 30.5 mondo and everywhere I look, the size chart says that the L binding (the biggest) is for 43.5+ EU or 28+ mondo. But not sure if they'll fit, because I don't know how high they go up to. @@avgazz7423 For a few reasons: EXTREMELY light, incredibly strong, just the right amount of flex, the stability of the high back is phenomenal. When compared to the Cartel or Atlas, the weight difference is really noticeable. As soon as I used them for the first time, I could feel the difference right away. They are so light I had never felt so connected to my board. The responsiveness is like nothing else and within a week, the improvement in my boarding was noticeable. The board just feels like an extension of your feet and they can handle pretty much anything you can throw at them. I ride a Trice Pro and a Jones Hovercraft. The atlas high backs are pretty flexy and the falcors are stiff and can't bend but only twist. But when they're on the board would you say the falcors are more flexy than how they just feel in your hand if you're bending them. Does the mini disc actually make it playful enough to butter?? I prefer strata. I did prefer the falcor but there’s not too much difference between the both. I have same kazu atlas. Great binding too and works well for carving and charging. Still prefer strata. I think the 2022 falcors might be a good upgrade.

Hi Tim, Why do you prefer the the Strata over the Atlas? WHat style riding do you do most? I have been thinking of getting either the Atlas or Strata. I am all mountain, aggresive, flowy, side hits , trees slalom, some park, mostly all mountain. I like my binding to be responsive, confortable. Currently have the BUrton Malavita and Salomon HOlograms.. I like the way the ankle straps and cushion look on the Strata, but wondering how the riding feel difference from the Atlas?

@@mpix00 strata have a more board feel with the mini disc. It’s a lil less locked in as the atlas but not by much. For what your describing is go strata. Atlas is great for a proper allmountain board. Strata all mountain freestyle. Similar response . Bigger disc for atlas, less board feel.

The white Atlas 2022 that you had in Hintertux had one of the stiffest Highbacks of Unions. Was that a different Union Atlas? And all Falcors that I checked had torsional flex in Highback. Which made them softer if I remember correctly.Still stiffer than Strata and Force, but softer than the white atlas from Hintertux.

  • @BoardArchive

@@BoardArchive I just checked the union Homepage, Atlas is rated 8/10 stiffness and Falcor 7/10. I believe the 2022 Atlas Highback is now stiffer than in the past, but I might be wrong. • @BoardArchive

that is interesting. If you look a little further down you can check out their flex rating for the highback and chasis of the binding separately. If you compare the falcor vs the atlas the atlas has a much softer highback, which lines up with how they feel on snow

@@BoardArchive guess that means highback flex must affect responsiveness more, makes sense, must generate more leverage. PS It's a locking washer that prevents the screws coming loose.
