The registry edit no longer works and hasn't worked for quite a long time now. Eventually Edge will reinstall itself, even when i forcibly disable Windows updates until the year 2099 it still comes back. It's literally like malware.

Thank you so very much for this video on how to UNINSTALL MICROSOFT EDGE. I have watched numerous videos on this very "irritating highjacking" of my computer and not one of them was successful. I uninstalled edge but now I can't find my file explorer when I go to search or go to the apps. How do I fix this???

When i use another browser instead of chrome, do i still put in 'DoNotUpdateToEdgeWithChromium'? or do i switch the word 'chromium' with my browser?

No. "EdgeWithChromium" is just referring to the 'new' (post 2020) version of Edge that runs on the Chromium engine.

people that say "if you hate it just don't use it" are the same people that would be fine for M$ to have its data to be collected Great video man, just wanted for an easy way to get off that pest that microsoft forces in my throat, you must always have a choice to uninstall unnecessary crap forced by third parties, it's your computer, not theirs.

Try going into your Windows (C:), Program Files (x86), look for the 'Microsoft' folder (where Edge hides) and delete everything in it (you may need to go into the settings somewhere and allow yourself full control - I can't remember exactly how to do this I'm afraid). Then delete the 'Microsoft' folder itself. Empty your recycle bin and restart your computer. Edge should be gone. If it isn't, there's a free online programme called 'IObit Uninstaller'. Have a search for it. That should get rid of the remaining bits of Edge for you. This has worked for me for the last year (retired plumber in England.)

see how many user hate edge. I also deleted edge multiple times but it's always come back. Hope this time work by this instruction. I facing with edge with high cpu and memory consumption.

When it was in bad shape, I had to remove it from the computer… But now, after corrections, it’s incomparable even in madness, faster, prettier, and most importantly, there are no boring ads on KZread… I don’t think other search engines can boast about it, nor ad blockers.

No, it is a bloatware mess. No matter how many times you try to disable some of it, Microsoft will reset and the bloat is back. I don't have the time or energy to fight with Microsoft. It used to be good 2 years ago when they switched to Chromium. But Microsoft ruined once again a browser lol. I uninstalled this mess some days ago, finally the option to uninstall it available to me since I am in EU. No more edge nonsense runing all the time in background for making the cluttered mess the call new tab page to load somehow faster.

Just a short add-on: After successfully uninstalling the WebView2 component, I found out that MS Teams doesn't work without it (the App-version, not the browser-version only). Maybe I overheard this in your video (I remember you warned that there may be side effects, but I desperately wanted to get rid of Edge, so I did not care too much 😂). Could be a small point worth mentioning it - if you ever plan an update of the video.

Holy shit it worked! I cast the demon out! I guess ill keep the program cause Edge will surely find its way back to my PC somehow lol.

DOESNT WORK says residual items that did not install edge

Saw a video that the new Outlook app that Microsoft implemented is depending on that Edge is installed. I don't use the app, but someone will do that and maybe find out that the mail app not working properly after uninstalling Edge.

No, it uses edge webview2. This is what you need to keep. The browser can be uninstalled. I am in EU and I uninstalled Edge (the uninstall option is available to me now) and outlook app is working fine. Microsoft doesn't have a choice. They are forced by EU to allow the safe uninstallation of Edge. At least for us in EU.

Yes, but Google is smarter than Microsoft. Chrome has less bloatware and you have a clean new tab page, not the cluttered mess of edge, no "system boost" nonsense and having chrome running all the time in background, no shopping "features" inside chrome, no games built in, no gemini buttons coming from everywhere. I wouldn't use both, but Google is definately smarter than MS, they know how to keep Chrome's marketshare.

No reason to delete edge. Disable background service and that it's. Don't like it, don't use it.
