Unimaginable Quality from European Manufacturing.

Спорт

We take a very up close and detailed look at the ‪@TheTimeSport‬ Alpe D'Huez road bike frame. Their latest model, and some of their finest work.
We talk about the exclusive RTM Resin Transfer Moulding process involved in the construction, but mostly focus of the overall build quality.
In future videos we are going to try and explain why this matter, why it is important to have precise and strong frames that inspire confidence.
Many thanks to TIME for their help in making this video. The video and stills of the factory are provided with free use to us. We have not accepted any payment or free goods. The ADHX mention is on loan, and the ADH frame mentioned has been paid for by us.
The paint work exhibits a glorious luster, the mounting points are clean, accurate and perfect.

Tony Karklins who is now the new CEO of Time who is reviving the brand was actually one of the founders of Allied cycles. They're now building a new factory in South Carolina to bring the resin transfer mold manufacturing process to the USA. The Gravel Ride podcast did an interview with Tony and it is really worth a listen.

Great video. My first quality bike was a TIME VXRS built around 2005. Have ridden it all over Ireland north and south , France , Italy and Spain including Mallorca. In all that I never saw another similar bike!! It has been beautiful to ride while being fast and very comfortable. I still have it and will never sell. I updated recently with a Pinarello F and thought with the passage of so many years I would be blown away with a great difference in every aspect. In truth I didn’t find that which says a lot for the TIME quality in the first place.

Simply a masterpiece above all other banged-up-together frames in some of many Chinese factories where even popular brands have their pieces weaved together and charge us significantly more for a frameset than Time does. In fact Time framesets retail at the price a Pinarello would be only if on a really good sale.

Good to hear you’re in one piece! I’ve just changed to a Mips MTB helmet and looking to change my road helmet in the near future… Something I would say is, before buying, make sure you try for fit - I’ve found that the liner can create a slightly different fit, so a new version, of a helmet you’ve been using, may not be a comfortable fit - if a helmet isn’t comfortable, it increases the chance of taking the risk and riding without!

I ride an old Look kg361. I bought many years ago as a frame. As you say a very steel like ride. It is such a great ride that I have only been tempted by the 585 and Time frames which were far more expensive. I have to agree the finish and attention on Time frames are exceptional. Sad how the bigs have spent out or pushed these superb builders pretty much out of pro cycling. That said the big guys make pretty good stuff.

I know that look and color not the greatest reason for choice of bike, but any and all research told me it's a great bike. Now your glowing admiration as well. Bonus, availability in USA, and they will ship frameset with components still in boxes for me to assemble myself...via email they said (at the time) I could be the first haha for the Hambini bottom bracket. I will be waiting impatiently for the rest of your Time series, especially the review of Alpe d'Huez transformation with existing components. Great idea, it should be interesting to see comparison. The ride, it’s about the feel when riding. Very different than a traditional monocoque. Solid, a more grounded, planted feel, the monocoque in comparison feels like I’m riding a plastic hollow tube, quite a bit more skittish on the pavement. I think the best comparison is the Time feels more like a steel bike in the ride quality… My .02 cents

Thank you for the review. I've been waiting for a replacement to my 10 years old Fluidity for several years now. I hope they won't mess up the geometry and stay true to the old one, with a shorter top tube compared to the competition. I will miss the proprietary head tube system, with its separation of functions. And the integrated seat post. Being able to use standard components is a plus, but I get the feeling they are after cost savings as well. It looks to me that the new ADH is pretty much an ADH21 for ADH01 money.

They do the boring frame design / building / selling to customers, but at least their design and build is excellent, and while the prices aren't cheap, you get what you pay for, and contrary to e.g. some big name brands, you almost never hear or see about a faulty Time frame.

The French factory only makes pedals now. The frame factory is in Slovakia.

I like the way you reviewed this frame now I'm super curious and curiosity leads to purchase 😂 but that comment that the bike goes to where you want it to 🤔 well i have always had quality frames but and I've never had a bike that doesn't go where i want it to go 😂

You never had a bike with so much fork and wheel flex that steering input is more like sailing than riding?

Not for nothing, I’m still sporting Time Equipe pedals on my Colnago Tecnos. It’s 23 years old! IMO best pedals ever made. I know it’s not a frame but…

Very much looking forward to the ride test. This could very well replace the Colnago C68 as the No1 bike in my “ I want that so much”list.

@@Mapdec You mean the test of the pink one? I was hoping you will do a test as the lady in that video is riding S size and I would like to hear what someone close to my size (L)-taller and heavier thinks about it.

Hammer down ride center opening in the U.S. outside of DC. The only exclusive TIME bike ride center. Look for it the end of June.

great review here, when was the Skylon last updated ? and what is the product timeline for next release? - reason I ask is I am considering reselling my latest frame (not Time) and making the switch.
