Are there multiple banks for Private saved channels or just one large 300-channel bank? So you can choose certain groups of private channels you want to include or exclude in the scan.

Hey sorry it’s taken so long first you need to see if the frequencies for those departments are digital or analog this scanner will only pick up analog channels if you have both analog and digital in your area I highly recommend getting a Uniden BCD436HP you can listen to virtually anyone that’s not encrypted it’s is on the pricy side but that’s the best scanner you can get right now and find cheaper than the best ebay is the place to find them

I have one of these, but I have no idea how to use it. I want to use it for truckers talk and police and fire etc. what aim I doing wrong?

I was given the same scanner you have. I live in Sandy, Oregon. I just have static even with the weather button. What am I doing wrong? Thank you

Sounds like you squelch needs to be tuned better is all turn the squelch knob all the way down counter clockwise it should stop then gradually move it clockwise until you hear the static again and move it down again to where it stops that will be the best place for the squelch knob to be try that

Maybe in your area the preprogrammed frequincies are not being used

Weird. I just acquired one of these but when i put on the same frequency as my other scanner it does not pick up anything like my other one does. Suggestiobs?

No but if your going to put it in your vehicle I recommend a vehicle antenna it comes either a antenna cable for a vehicle which I am currently using and it works great

I keep getting the message "Prg Loc" when I try to program in a frequency. Do you know how to turn off this lock? Thanks

The frequencies are already in the scanner press private then band until your frequency range is on the screen let go scanner will cycle through frequencies press hold to stop use arrows to scroll one at a time when found Press private program then private again you should watch the video

You can download the Frequencies into the scanner if you had the CD Software. That particular radio came out in 1993 so it'll probably be a bitch to find .

No this is not digital analog only if your going for digital handheld get the BCD436HP OR the SDS100

Them radios are actually suberb recivers, better than my uniden bct15x actually

My bct15x works great i can pick up police 30 miles away in next town. And in my town you need trunking or the radio is worthless for police calls.. This radio doesn't have it

When i go to put in or delete a Frequencies i get an message that says Pr 9-Loc. Any ideas how to get ride of it?? Thanks

Push program twice when it says it

Analog Communication is pretty much a thing of the past Trunking System . Picking up Emergency Services is all a matter of luck.There switching over to the P25 Digital System. Security we ended up with old Police Equipment so you should be able to pick up a Security Company within 50 miles. Train Station's 🚂, Cab Companies 🚖 & Bus Companies 🚌 also end up with old Police Radio Equipment haveing contracts with them some small Airports 🛫 . I used to jack with this Security Company i used to work for i was 35 miles out 😂. Haveing a Scanner's a God Send when they switch frequencies.

@@sigsnrigs240 I put a spitter on my 04 frontiers antenna and it picks up better than the scanner antenna I had. That's a great radio to be able to scan cb also.

I really don’t no I don’t have this scanner anymore I would just lock it out or over ride that channel with your new one I don’t think you can because of how the scanner is set up

Hi Stella I have looked up both of your locations they a both in what’s called a interops system fire and ems police sherrif all patched together it is a digital system which scanner does not cover you would need a digital scanner that can pick up p25 phase 2 digital channels comes in crystal clear digital scanners are not cheap be prepared to spend some money I have the best on the market handheld scanner it was 650 dollars

Yes there’s only one area or bank to store your private channels but each have a different channel number

Ok just about every state is going starting a interops a group of county’s and department system which can only be heard with a digital scanner Illinois is one of those states that scanner is analog only you it’s pretty much useless in your state
