This card game looks pretty fun and its collectors edition comes with a video game too. Even cooler.

It's insanely fun. I'm saying it in a nice way considering a lot of collector's edition pack-ins are just shiny baubles or basically afterthoughts... This card game has no right being as good as it ended up being. I love it to bits and it's an absolute shame it's (most likely) not going to be available outside the Monarch Edition. It'd sell fairly well I think.

Not only did you make a game, you made a 2nd game and added it as an extra for the Collectors Edition, that's a lot of effort.

​@JagGentlemann yeah it's not in the video game nor is it available as standalone. $130 is only for diehards. I got a preorder sale for $40 and this is kinda meh. Edit: cancelled my preorder with how much the dialogue and battle animations drag. At least there is a long demo for those interested

As a board game collector, this is a must-have. I preorder the game. I haven't played an rpg since the fire emblem on the 3ds. This is enough content for me to get this, and I'm excited. Update: I just received it, and the bad thing is the box the card game comes in is so flimsy. It's not even a strong cardboard. The cards themselves are a stronger material than the case they are stored in. The cards were not wrapped in plastic. Therefore, they shook back and forth, and some card corners were damaged. You can tell that they didn't put thought into the packaging and are not experienced in making boardgames. Finally, the Charcters they used for the card game are the most generic characters out of the game. They had a whole library of amazing detailed characters they could have used but simply used the grunts and generic looking characters. As of gameplay I haven't played it yet.

I played it. The rulebook takes a bit to figure out, but once it clicks, it's a really entertaining little deck builder that doesn't overstay its welcome. It only lasts five rounds.

My lord... I want this game so much. And I don't even have a PS5 nor a Switch, neither an Xbox. Might buy the collector's edition just because of it's sheer value. Vanillaware and Basiscape never dissapoints, so the album and the artbook are always welcome, but now they adding a 239 cardgame into it? Want. All of the want.

Wasn't expecting it to be a full blown game. I wanted to just check out art book, but it brings more reason to grab monarch edition.

Played the demo of the game and immediately went to preorder. I expected the deluxe version to cost more and come with less, this looks so good. I don’t think I’ve ever preordered a fancy deluxe version of a game until now :)

Was gonna skip this because no steelbook, but the card game actually looks fun.

I'm so looking forward to giving the card game a try with my friends. I was hoping the music was orchestral, not 16Bit 😢

BE AWARE that the OST included IT IS NOT the REAL soundtrack of the game; its a 16 bit arrangement.

I really like the card game thats included in the collectors edition. Unfortunately i dont have anyone to play it with. I really think it would be great if this was implemented into the game as dlc. Itd could be as good as gwent. Having online matchmaking would definitely be great.

The vendor I pre-ordered MY Monarch Edition from is out of Canada (I believe Video Games Plus). I am from the U.S but I preordered it from them because they had the Monarch Edition up like the same day the game was first revealed and I wasn't sure if it would be exclusive to them.

Not only have I ordered a couple of times in the past from them, but tons of collector's of Switch games use them all the time because they tend to offer copies of LRG Switch games that can no longer be purchased from LRG themselves. Also, the reason you thought that the only way to get the Monarch Edition was from the U.S. is because VGP actually has exclusive rights to sell it in Canada.

I do have a small group in my company with whom I play various card games every few weeks, but somehow I don't like using cards from a limited Collectors Edition. Cards wear out quite quickly and I prefer to keep them in good condition.

Right now if you have Tabletop Simulator on Steam, someone did port the card game in it's workshop for you to download.

I still don't understand why Unicorn Overlord (and previous Vanillaware games) are not released on PC too when you are releasing this one on every plateforms. :/

Most of the stuff on here pretty much details how it works after playing it a couple of times in groups. The only thing that both this and the instructions kind of neglected to tell and is only left assumed based on how certain cards operate that any cards you’ve purchased or drawn during the Battle Phase after the initial hand discard is kept in your hand for the next round. If there’s any specific questions, I can probably help answer.

@@emilianoramos2461 Yes, you’re able to use its effect once bought during the Territory phase. If bought during the Battle Phase, the ones with the banner icon do not as those are only usable during the Territory phase, but the ones with the Infinity (continuous) icon are able to take in effect any time as long as their other conditions listed are met.
