Unicorn Overlord is Complicated | First Impressions

Ойындар

Hey everyone it's Tiller!
Today we're talking about the demo for Unicorn Overlord.
This game is developed by the best and brightest at Vanillaware, the studio also responsible for 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim.
The game is published by Atlus but as far as I can tell there is no evidence of them actually working on the game itself.
Regardless, this is a 10 year project from Vanillaware, aimed to be the "rebirth of tactical fantasy RPGs" which is a tall order.
This is an interesting game for those who enjoy SRPGs but I'm more on the casual side. I want to see if this game can live up to my lofty expectations though I don't think I'm the person to listen to on if they actually succeed at living up to their goal since I don't play a lot of these games.
Either way, I hope you enjoy my first impressions of Unicorn Overlord.
And if you have any thoughts about the game so far, how about you leave a comment below?
You can also leave a like if you enjoyed the video and subscribe to the channel for more things JRPG related!
Thanks for watching and I'll see you guys next time!

Having played Odin Sphere Leifthrasir in the past (one of my favorite games of all time), I was really excited to see VanillaWare's new IP. I've never played any SRPG before, but I played the demo and, oh boy... I was super enthralled with the gameplay, and the amazing deep complexity of the mechanics. Artstyle is top notch, and the story is actually pretty good. I've seen other reviewers criticizing how "shallow" it might be sometimes, but I found it to be well written. It's not Game of Thrones, but it gets the job done. Now the game has officially launched, it's time to save some money to buy the full version.
