It's just an excuse they used afterwards, had the driver been a white westerner instead of a Palestinian they would have attacked too. They managed to stop 2 million meals a week going towards hungry Palestinians and all they had to do for it is take some calls with western leaders assuring them that it was unintentional and that they are going to conduct a full investigation. It was totally worth it to them.

How naive of the UNICEF spokesperson, there was no coordination systems failing. Israel targets aid workers when it is in its best interests. They got a lot of criticism because of the drone strike against World Central Kitchen but it was but words and what did they get in return? Food aid consisting of 2 million meals a week going to hungry Palestinians was stopped. Then they went to brag that they were going to gradually allow more food into Gaza which turned out to just be more trucks but now half empty.

So, there is no big plan to save the physical nation of Israel today. In war rifles are fired, and sometimes where those bullets land people get hurt or vehicles scratched. Didn't they read the 'enter at own risk' signs all over their contracts? I've listened to all the media pieces on this incident and no one has stated definitively who fired the shots. They seem to have been fired from somewhere near the IDF checkpoint. Could have been IDF firing at a hamas fighter, or the IDF scaring some people to move away from somewhere they shouldn't be; could just as easily have been a hamas terrorist firing at the crowd from 200-300m away, cunningly putting the IDF checkpoint in the line of fire to make them look guilty. However the IDF are inferred by the presentation to be the party at fault. Very poor journalism there. The presenter wants assurances that this 'won't happen again'? From whom? Hamas? good luck with that! Is she for real? Do they only recruit idiots for journalism and aid work? Just because they are doing good work, doesn't mean that the war will stop just so they can do their thing. They are not the main card game in town. It's a pity they don't show the same concern for the victims of hamas.

Palestinians want their land back. But I guess that's just an insignificant detail or something.

As a kid, in the early 70's, I remember the ugly feeling of being exploited to collect cherity for UNICEF on Halloween, believing that it was falling into evil hands.

Two things: 1. Three bullets could hit a vehicle from anywhere. The lady said gunfight emerged from somewhere in the vicinity of the convoy. Who exactly was shooting? I was told that only civilians were in Gaza. 2. UNICEF said that 80% of the world’s starving are in Gaza, then says 122M people are at risk of starving globally. There are 2M people in Gaza. 2/122 is not 80%. Math is the enemy of these people.

1. She said in the vicinity of the CHECKPOINT which is an Israeli military checkpoint to get into the besieged territory. That should be obvious - the soldiers have the guns. 2. UNICEF never said that because it's impossible for them to quantify how many people in the world are starving they're not going to send out an email questionnaire and tally all the people who reply saying they're starving, but they can estimate by population how many people could be at RISK of starving based on food shortages. You don't seem very smart.
