Harry C Oakes (we called him Cal) was my Great Uncle, he was an eccentric inventor, just as one would expect. Sold the rights/patent to the bit, bought planes and fast cars.

Needed a how to sharpen segment in there.. because you can sharpen them over and over.. until you get too close to center and make a paperweight out of it...

What is the recommended RPM? Should I slow down with bigger diameters?

From the literature we have, there does not seem to be a specific RPM that the manufacture recommends. Generally speaking though, when drilling holes in metal applications, lower RPM’s with lots of lubrication is ideal. Thanks for watching our video!

The Titanium Nitride (TiN) Coated would be best.

None of the ones I saw. Carbide would work if it was made. Titanium on the drill is just show, only .001-.003 only.

Is it possible that the chuck is not connected properly? If It is then using a lubricate like WD-40 should help. greggdistributors.ca/search?q=wd-40&resp_group=Default,Variations,ItemProperties

I'm way late but are you putting the drill in the hole before pulling the trigger? Pull the trigger to get some rpm's before making contact with the surface to be drilled
