Uni T UT161E Review

Ғылым және технология

This is a review of the Uni-T UT161E multimeter for use in hobby electronics projects primarily related to amateur radio.
A pdf document of this review: github.com/TomWilkinson/Multimeter-Reviews/blob/main/Uni-T%20UT161E%20Review.pdf
his review was produced to help you decide if the Uni-T UT161E multimeter will fit your purpose and budget. This is part of a series of multimeters reviews.
Here is a link to the DMMCheck Plus site I mentioned in the video: dmmcheckplus.com
A good multimeter for hobby electronic projects should be able to measure millivolts, volts, microamps, milliamps, amps, ohms, nanofarads and microfarads.
If you want to measure picofarads, nanohenry, microhenry or reactance you will need a LCR meters. I cover the two LCR meters I own in another review.
I am not a professional, I am a hobbyist. This review is not sponsored; I bought this multimeter with my own money. I only used and tested this multimeter in CAT I and CAT II environments. I do not have a way to review or test the safety of this meter. I leave the CAT III and CAT IV environments to trained and licensed professionals. It may seem like I am a Fluke fan boy, but I recognize their flaws along with their advantages. There may be unintended mistakes and/or errors in this review.

Manual says: Input impedance: About 1GΩ for mV range, about 10MΩ for other ranges. Did you measure 13 Mohms for the mV range??

Thanks for catching the error. You are correct, I must have forgot to hit select to put it in DC mode before taking the measurement. I don't have a meter that can measure 1GΩ using under 220 mV. We will just have to trust the manual.

I am really enjoying this series... it is very helpful to know what is real vs marketing, and to get a better insight into the features.

It would be good if you indicated in the table not only the measured value, but also how much it differs from the standard as a PERCENTAGE.

If the app request blue tooth access it includes GPS rights too. On Android.

I believe the app on Android requests your location, because technically using Bluetooth one can scan for other devices and using their ID/MAC one can determine your location. So thats the reason the App has to ask. - Trips up people all the time

interesting, if lowest resistance test voltage 0.6V this meter wont suit testing transistor>resistor circuits in say switch power supply unlike in UT61E it was 0.2V, 0.6V voltage would open transistor so that giving false reading.
