    Thanks for posting this it’s really helpful! Was just wondering how did you make your curtain rail for the shower? It looks like a really good idea!

    Hi! I made mine by getting a pole that was retractable (like a spring) so that it would stay tight against the walls, but it doesn’t really matter as long as you have something you can get across the walls - although being able to move it up and down was useful for when I wanted to move it to dry it/have touching the floor for when I showered. Then I got a cheap shower curtain and used shower curtain loops in the little holes at the top to just slide over the pole. It sounds complicated but it’s pretty simple and cheap don’t worry! I would defo recommend investing in one though as it made it much more pleasant! X

    Great thank you so much! Also are you allowed to use blue tack to put your posters up? I’m guessing the uni doesn’t mind, I’m just worried if it marked the walls? X

    @@lauradurantandemilyhurst8660 I would use white-tack as blu-tack is quite hard to remove

    Hey, I’m afraid I don’t have any of the stuff for it any more, but I’d recommend either using a retractable pole (which is easy to find online and quite cheap, think I got mine from my Grandma lol) or you could get two pretty strong suction cups and put string on them. Curtain hooks are super cheap as is shower curtain material! It might cost you about £10/12 but was DEFO worth it in my case!

    Hi Did you have a radiator or is it underfloor heating? Was it easy to dry clothes that can’t be tumble dried thanks

    Hey, the flat is centrally heated but I think there was also a radiator under the desk, can’t 100% remember though! You can set up a clothes drying rack in your room or living area, or even in your bathroom if you don’t want to tumble dry things

    was the wifi good there? how many devices could you connect at once?

  • @THEtattytetty

    @THEtattytetty

    Yeah wifi was good! It’s a shared network amongst all the students so everyone has the same bandwidth but you have your own login. I believe you could have quite a lot of devices connected, not sure if there was a limit but I’d say I had maybe 5/6 max!

    Interesting. I have a question, are there only fresher's in mason ? Are there people older than 18, for example 22 ? :) thanks

  • @THEtattytetty

    @THEtattytetty

    5 жыл бұрын

    Yes it varies! As it is first year accommodation there are lots of freshers typically but at the top of each mason block there is a studio apartment and oftentimes older students live there. That being said there’s always a mix of ages of the students, for example my neighbour had already done one degree and was 22!

    Hi! Thank you for the tour! May I know if the accommodation for first and second years differ?

  • @THEtattytetty

    @THEtattytetty

    The Vale is for first years only. Once in second year, you will have to find your own accommodation. After the Vale, most people move to Selly Oak, or sometimes Edgbaston, or Harborne. Selly Oak is the other side of the campus.

    Hi~If I don‘t drink will it be necessary to choose “alcohol-free” preference when applying halls?😯Will this preference lower the possibility of being allocated to my preferred hall?

  • @THEtattytetty

    @THEtattytetty

    4 жыл бұрын

    Eugene Lee Hi, to be honest I’m not sure if they will ask you that on the accommodation forms but as far as I’m aware there isn’t specifically any ‘non drinkers’ accommodation. It might ask you a little about yourself but this is to try and pair you with compatible people within your hall you’ve been given. I don’t think this would affect the possibility of you getting your preference whatsoever, just choose what makes you comfortable! I know the bottles can give off an impression but there really isn’t any social pressure and hopefully you will find some great flatmates! Once you have been assigned your accommodation you can use the flatmate finder tool to contact your future housemates and get to know more about them. Good luck! Let me know if you have any more questions and I’ll be happy to help.

    what did you use to stick things to your wall?

  • @THEtattytetty

    @THEtattytetty

    I used blu-tack but I wouldn't recommend it as it was quite hard to get off without marks, maybe use white-tack or be suuuper careful taking off the blu-tack! Sellotape is even worse so avoid that!

  • @THEtattytetty

    @THEtattytetty

    I’ve explained this before in another comment! You just need a retractable pole (that’s the key part), some hooks and a curtain!

  • @THEtattytetty

    @THEtattytetty

    John Lewis have them, so do Amazon, Dunelm and Argos. Just search retractable or extendable curtain rail or pole. Mine was my grandmas so not sure where it was actually from or the length but better to go longer and then can shorten it once you’re there :) Make sure it has rubber ends too so it won’t mark the wall

    Also genuinely you won’t wear half of the clothes you bring to uni and you’ll do so much shopping so you really don’t need to bring that much! I thought I’d be going to lectures in cute outfits every day but by the end of the first week I realised everyone goes in trackies hahaha so don’t feel like you need to bring every outfit you own!

    I know! It’s not the best design but it’s definitely manageable if you’re smart about how you store things, and it does mean you have a bit more space as it doubles as the bathroom door. I’d say any long things just fold, you can store belongings under your bed or in the chest of drawers too.
