This type of issue will continue so long as the appointment of judges is political. Every other western country has the final approval of judges made nominally by the head of state. However, in practice the judges are chosen by an independent body made up of past and existing judges, senior lawyers, and law professors.

See the problem is most other countries have the head of state and the head of government held by different people with the former being a mostly ceremonial role. In the US, the president is both, which means it is impossible for the appointment of judges to be apolitical without overhauling our constitution and form of government. I’ve long thought the US would do well with a Westminster-style parliamentary system rather than the current system we have, but we’re not exactly in a place right now where we could possibly iron out a new constitution and a new system of government. We are far too divided at this moment in time for something like that.

A President declassify documents, a senator must view documents in a stored location and is not allowed to take any documents out the WH. A President can take documents with him. There seems to be a stronger case against Trump’s rival. I don’t think either of them should be prosecuted. If I wanted to be a witness to this level of drama, I would watch the WWE. I expect more from our elected officials and both sides are behaving like toddlers.

If trump loses the appeal, he is still responsible to pay the full amount. The bond of $150 million is just guaranteed/insired by a 3rd party to be paid to the state of NY immediately when Trump loses the appeal. The amount owed can be decreased in the appeal court's ruling, but that has not happened and lowering of the bond amount isn't some hint to how the appeal court will rule.
