Meet Zoe Kent, a 28-year-old farmer, who defies stereotypes through her humor, hard work, and unfiltered perspective on modern farming. As the eighth generation on her family's Buckeye country farm, she pursued her childhood dream of becoming a farmer. From mowing lawns as a kid to operating heavy machinery, Kent gradually expanded her responsibilities on the farm. While her mother encouraged her to explore opportunities outside farming, Kent knew her true passion lay in agriculture.
After earning an ag business degree from Ohio State University, she returned home and, in 2019, formed an LLC with her father. However, their plan to run as partners for five years changed due to her father's health issues. Kent decided to buy the farm early, allowing her father to remain involved for guidance and advice. Their inseparable bond is cherished, and it is showcased in Kent's popular social media presence, "‪@farmwithzoekent‬" which she started two years ago. Despite occasional negativity and stereotypes, Kent uses social media as a platform to authentically share her farming experiences. She also receives messages from aspiring young women who are inspired by her journey.
