As a resident of the USA, this top 5 is a perfect example of why I also follow non-US reviewers. These bikes wouldn't have been reviewed no less be on a top-anything list in the US. I enjoy your videos and alternate points of view!

Excellent point, my friend! I stopped following US reviewers years ago because most of them ride them at levels that 90% of us are even capable.

Same here. Most US reviewers are focused on a spec sheet and half the time they can’t even read that with any accuracy. In fact, I have seen some that “review” a bike they have never even seen in person, much less ridden. That “noob boob” even showed the twin shocks on a bike while calling it a monoshock. These reviews that focus on the feelings are far more useful. If spec sheets and logic were the only criteria we wouldn’t even ride motorcycles. We would all be in cars.

Couldn’t agree more…
Perfect no. 1 choice from a slightly biased V7 Special owner. Every ride is a ‘special’ occasion.
My comments as an American from across the pond. And yes, many Americans like me have some English blood and perhaps through DNA, share similar sensibilities in all things. I like the British picks in positions 4 & 5. Art, a throwback to a simpler and some may believe a better time in history, won't break the bank etc. As to the big, bad Harley you chose, me personally at around the old man's age, I actually prefer Darcy's 2021 Softail which is less in your face and a more elegant versus brutish machine. Personal preference only. Yes, big motors are alluring no question. I am not so much a big back tire fan and their affect on handling as well. No doubt you remember the American Chopper show which was a 'phase' a decade past or so. As to your top spots, the comment about character is spot on and honestly what made Harley famous, their crankshaft and engine character. As it turns out, as enlightened motorheads who understands the nexus of art and performance, you identified that it's the character of the bike that provide visceral appeal, perfect being more boring, not unlike people and why no Hondas on the list, with due respect to the great Mr. Honda. As to your two top spots, like the old man, I would have picked the T100 at no.1 as well, as I have never been a big Guzzi fanboy, in fact, within the Italian genre, preferring Ducati's to Guzzi's for their performance pedigree. And like my preference for Darcey's soft tail Harley versus the fire breathing Harley you awarded, notable you didn't choose the Triumph T-120 over the T100. Many share your same opinion, include me, I prefer the T100 over T120. Finding Goldilocks and I owned an early injected 2009 T100 360 deg firing air-cooled remake and the new T100 with 270 deg. firing order and water cooled is even better and too love the British Racing Green. Perhaps a bit surprised you didn't have one fast Japanese bike on your list. One of my personal favorites, staying in the retro theme, is the Kawasaki Z900RS as I just love the look of the bike and its lusty 4 cyl charm, like a T100 on steroids, or Honda 750CB way back. All the best in 2024 as we will be watching. To me, you really capture the motorcycle hobby. Also, love your backroads. What a beautiful place.

Great to hear and Happy New Year 👍🏼
Reassuring to see that my choice of a new motorcycle this year was a good choice (V7). I bought this before finding you. So, we both saw this late in 2023 as a uniqueness solid choice from independent thinking. I just took the Stone to Tampa from Miami and back over Christmas. Florida is flat and roads straight. Speeds are high with many big pickup trucks and SUV’s around. It was a ride where I really felt nature 😮! Great all-round. It seemed to get smoother at high speeds and revs. Lots of wind blast at a constant 75-80 mph through the Everglades as you can imagine. Once arriving at a destination it is fabulous to cruise around town on slowly in the evening and easy to park. Definitely lots of character! Happy New Year to you both🎉! I look forward to your wonderful channel postings in 2024! Thank you for your hard efforts to bring us all content from a realistic and down-to-earth perspective.

No frills place. Just get bike and go. No comforts.
I've been riding for 46 years now and just bought my first Guzzi this year. It's amazing how quickly I became a total convert. They are so involving to ride. You really feel like you're riding something designed and built with the emotions of thousands of passionate riders.
Very first time I rode the v7 I was sold as well. Ive never rode a bike with the feel and character of the Guzzi v7. I ended up buying a 2021 v7 850 after another test ride, it is seriously just a great bike and a keeper. Guzzi is like the hidden gem of motorcycles that so many seem to miss out on, but seems a lot more people are becoming aware of them and they may be growing as a brand. They are the Italian Harley but without some of the Harley nonsense.
I liked number one, Moto Guzzi make cool bike. I had a Mark V Le Mans in 1989, I should have kept it.
Agree on Guzzi - I have one + a few KTMs for South Africa and the Himalayan 411 - I love them all - but agree on the Guzzi - the engine has so much character and the trim is beautiful
Love the Guzzi! A bike that is more exclusive
Thank you both for your spot on reviews this year. I ended up purchasing the RE Classic 350 last year and have loved every minute of it! I personally think RE dropped the ball by not making the new Bullet a 500 or 750. I’m looking for a little bump up in power and that would’ve been perfect as I love the classic style of a retro. Best of things to you and your family for 2024!

Truly I think anything more than a 350 would have been better staying as a single for the sound
What makes Mooto Guzzi V7 exclusive is that it's one of the rare shaft driven motorcycles. Inefficient, but reliable and durable.
Well this review validates my bikes…literally the last four bikes I have owned Triumph Bonnie, H-D, Moto Guzzi V7 and now RE Classic 350! Cheers 🍻
A few years ago, there were 6 of us on a ride out to the west coast of Vancouver island, windy roads most of the way. There were 3 sports bikes, 2 sport tourers and my mate on his Breakout. 2 of the sports bike guys tried to get away from the Breakout, they failed. Hell of a bike if you can’t handle it. HNY to you both.
The Guzzi was my choice. I bought one in March of this year, the Special in Blue Formale. I looked hard at the Enfields and Triumphs as well, along with the Kawasaki W800. It came down to the T100 and V7 850 with the Guzzi winning out. It's a very beautiful motorcycle with unique features that win the day. Shaft drive, better brakes, 6 speed trans, larger tank, and easier valve adjustments, make me sure I made the best choice.
Motorcycling is all about looks and emotion! Well done guys! ❤
I knew it!!!! I knew you were going for the Guzzi Well deserved top place ✌️

A Top 5 list of best bikes is always subjective however out of your top 5 , if money was no object then it would have to be the Breakout 117 in first place , in the real world I'd have to go with you and vote for the V7.
I love the bikes in this list. I’m not sure if it’s available in your area, but I think both of you would love the Kawasaki W800 Street. Cheers! 🍻

Good stuff as usual. You two have the same taste in bikes
Thank you both for the great content this year!
Love a big thumper, my GoldStar has been a joy ever since i bought it in March. How much difference that Guzzi looks with an unpainted exhaust and no matt paint, completely different.
Character, history and pedigree do matter, great choice for #1. Having owned both a T100 and T120, now riding an HD FXLRS, I can attest to the quality, fit and finish Triumph offers is outstanding. My little black beauty 900cc T100 is the machine that I learned on, she took good care of me and I'll always love that little Bonnie.🤘
Glad to see the classic 350 in there , still enjoying mine, all the best for the new year 👍 Cheers Mel 🍻

Quite obvious the V7 would be your number one 😂 You make a good point however, seeing some models on photos or videos don't always tell the whole story until you see them in the flesh. An example for me was the tank dimensions on the Super Meteor 650, it's really wide from the riders position but it's never noticeable from a video. Have a great and productive 2024 chaps 👍🏻
Well, that’s funny! I’ve actually bought the Moto Guzzi V7 Special last year and I’ve done a road trip with the new RE Classic 350 in India 2 months ago, both in the same colors you’ve shown. Both GREAT bikes! Amazing style, character, and enjoyable new technology. But wait until you test the Moto Guzzi V100 Mandello. Just wait…
Happy New Year to you both, looking forward to more great video’s in 2024!

Yes! so happy you chose the Moto Guzzi V7 special. Moto Guzzi's are not so common in the UK, so need a bit more support to encourage people to take a look at them. Before you make your decision on whether you buy it or not maybe you might want to look at some 2nd hand older Guzzi's. Knowing you like the cruiser style then perhaps something like a Moto Guzzi Jackal or a Moto Guzzi Bellagio might be more your style. You will not find either of these bikes available in large numbers but they are great bikes. I've owned my Bellagio for over 16 years and it's a fantastic bike with 74 bhp, so a little bit more than the current V7. I guess it would make sense to buy something current for your KZread content but I just thought I'd put it out there.
Yes l agree 👍 Motto Guzzi 👏 Art on Wheels was how l describe all Motto Guzzi bikes. Don't like em in sporty colours, preferably classic colours.
Interesting choices, especially the Harley and putting the V7 at the top shows how you did not just follow the crowd. I was expecting the Meteor 650 to be in there too but I guess it can't compete with the HD! 2024 is set to be a good year for you, and Happy New Year!

Great Post. Owned a Guzzi V7iii and it's my biggest regret selling it. Beautiful bit of Italian art and a thrilling ride.
Nice list ,of which there are only winners. If there would be a sixth bike on the list ,then perhaps the Kawasaki W800. I would take the triumph; however, the Guzzi tickles my fancy as well. Have a healthy and happy new year. Greetings from a new subscriber! Love the format and down to earth approach.

Between the Guzzi and the T100 you really can tell the difference between the sound of a real Vtwin and an inline 2 with a fancy crank. The Triumph still sounds lovely but the Guzzi has a bit more going on.

Some of the Motorcycles you reviewed are not available in the US, but I do have a 2018 Bobber and love it. The first bike I rode was a Honda 305 Super Hawk. The first bike I owned was a Triumph T100R, The second bike was a 1948 Harley Panhead Chopper, that I rode for 40 years. I'm 75 now and love my 2018 Bobber. Once again you have led me to believe I made the right decision to buy a V7. Don't get me wrong, I love my Road King & a T100 is definitely in my future (as a tractor for a sidecar) but the Guzzi is just such a magical machine. Spokes, twin shocks, pushrods, the simplicity of screw/lock nut valves & air cooling... It pushes all the right buttons. And that BSA (sigh)... I will definitely be looking to get my hands on one when they (finally) become available in Australia. The best & most versatile motorcycle I have ever owned was a 2001 BMW F650 Dakar (I still regret selling it 10 years on) & I always wanted to sample that wonderful motor in a road frame. The Gold Start will finally let me have my wish. Thanks for all your efforts gentlemen. I can hardly wait to see what you have lined up for us next year! Ride hard & take risks 😉

Great end of year review guys. Try and get a Mash X Ride 650 Trail with the 21 inch front wheel & 18 inch rear. It's a very tall seated bike so will suit you both and looks like the iconic Yamaha XT500 but with a Honda designed XR650 air cooled engine, but upgraded to fuel injection and oil cooler.
these are all nice bikes and obviously personal preference, I almost purchased the Breakout but got the Lowrider S instead, because of the handling characteristics of the Lowrider, the lower cc motorcycles would be perfect for areas that you could not get out of second gear on the larger bikes, again personal preference
i agree with you even though i didnt have the chance to test one of them thanks for your good work!
Really good mix. Best Top 5 I've seen. My favourite, after a lot of thought would be the T100 with Gold Star close second.😊

I love how you guys are always talking about riding narrow country lanes. I'm here in the States, and I'm always like, "I can't recall ever riding on a narrow country lane?" LOL. Not really a thing where I live. One big reason I bought my Harley was because of how much highway and interstate riding I do just to get around the city where I live. Plus the weight is a must with the Oklahoma winds! My sporty used to get blown all over the place, but not my LRS. I would love to ride those narrow country lanes though! To me, that's where a motorcycle is at home.

Am selling my old Road King and looking for a bike that is good for day to day riding but also capable of lighter touring with my girlfriend on the back. There are plenty of options in the adv or sport touring market but i prefer the classic/retro style and there the options are a bit fewer. I own a 2018 V7111 750 Milano brushed aluminum fenders and panels. Twin clocks yes. Tubeless cased alloy wheels. This was a one year to my knowledge. Color cream gray fuel tank. The gear box was a little clucky for 1k. Sense the first service it's like butter. Don't shove your size 12 book directly under the shift lever and expect it to reward you with a smooth shift. Just a flick with the side of the boot. Same for finding neutral. Huge fuel range, 70 mpg and low maintenance. It has failed to leave a smile on my face or a second glance walking away. That makes it a number one to me. It is squarely in the category of bikes you combined it with. New England is the environment that I ride. It is easy to avoid thru ways, not that it won't do it. Did think the R18 may have snuck in ahead of the Harley! Hoping to see a review from you guys next year on the new R12. Looks a beautiful bike Cheers and Happy New Year!

Many thanks 😊
I was happy to see the V7 at the top of the list. Guzzis are a much maligned brand of motorcycle. I have a V7lll Special.which I love riding. The small block Guzzis are bullet prove and easy to service. Probably not the best bike for the wide open spaces in the US West, I have a V100 for that. On a closing note the gearbox takes a little finese with some use and practice you will be shifting smoothly and silently. I learned the technique on Airhead Beemers.
I have the 2017 Street Scambler version of the T100 and love evrything about it .I have gone trough 2 chains and a sprocket in 15K of back roads, dirt and gravel riding ... If Triumph would give it a bit more of a suspension, a bigger gas tank (range is 160+ miles ) and a shaft drive that would be my dream bike ... Wait that sounds like the Guzzi ... :) If I trusted Mandello for getting parts out to their dealers I would jump on one . There will always be small problems with every brand and the life long riders I know who have Guzzi's really do have them for life ... They are some of the best riders I know ... Guzzi is a class act .Then again so is Triumph and I have a new spocket on the SS 900 :) Happy New Year ..I love your hills and would love to come ride there .. I got my first A licence in Haverfordwest in 1970 :) Pembrookshire and Cardigan were my yourthfull back lanes ..;
Love your point of view about bikes. The V7 Special and the RE Classic 350 are my preferred bikes from the list. If I had time for riding I would buy both of them. However, my stable is well provided with a XSR900 and a Monkey.
I predicted the no1 spot. Can't disagree looking wise, but unfortunately I've never ridden one. It's the bike that fits the old man best.
Spot on. Who doesn’t love a classic 350 bought mine on following you guys. The T100 is the perfect classic all rounder. Happy new year guys 👍

Happy new year!
In regards to the classic 350 my good friend owns one and his opinion is or was exactly the same as yours, however after a few modifications he said it's now a totally different bike,he added a free flow air filter a decat pipe but more importantly a powertronix fuel x lite ,before when approaching hill's he'd have to go down a cog or 2 but now fly right up them ,marked improvement, sorry Greta 😊
The list is really consistent with the channel style, in a most positive way I'd precise. By the way, I was expecting N 1 😏. Thanks for the great job and best wishes for 2024 ✌
