Pile 1 sounds like this could be in my job situation where I know there are people who don't particularly like me and might be the ones speaking or doing things behind my back, unfortunately higher ups. However, it's great to know that another "higher up" probably higher than them will stop this injustice and help me move forward to a better place or job.
