University of New England President James D. Herbert addressed graduates and families at commencement on Saturday, May 18 at the Cross Insurance Arena in Portland.
During his remarks, Herbert spoke to UNE’s tradition of innovative thinking in the development of programs, partnerships, and education. He cited the University’s motto 'Innovation for a Healthier Planet,' as the foundation of its dedication to creating programs that are specifically designed to empower students to enhance the health of people, communities, and the natural environment worldwide.
