What kind of video lights do you currently use? Let's discuss!

Hi Ben, nice review. I think the light is suitable for lots of people, e.g. the casual GoPro underwater videographer. It certainly will beef up an otherwise dark and crappy video. And I think this exactly the audience the manufacturer is aiming for. It is surely not for the professional videographer producing for TV or movie industry. However, these kind of small lights are perfect for lighting up background when doing video work in mines. You just throw them in a corner to light up a wall or but it behind an object. CRI does not matter that much in a mine. It is all black anyway...

Absolutely! It’s surely not meant for TV production! And as you said…brighten up the background in a cave it’s exactly what this light is perfect for

So, after 8 months, what do you think of this light? How do you like the 150° angle? This should make you loose quite some lumens vs a light with a 120° angle I guess. I want a light mostly for ocean videos (macro or to give a bit of reflection to shoals of fish).

How can i mount It on a Homeet Stick to use with a GoPro?

Guess it’ll be too heavy for that anyway. These kind of lights is made for ball heads. But the ball head uses a 1/4“ thread and can be unscrewed. Do you nicht be able to use the standard screws that are used for the GoPro mounts.

372g with ball clamp, no batery 670g with ball and battery. Underwater behaves nice but in green waters heh... if you dive in clear waters ok, if not... let's say keep it around 1.5 meters from the illuminated motif to get some color back. Remember that in water reds disappear at around 5 meters so if you are lighting a motif 2.5meters away, the round trip will be 5 meters, ok? Better to leave a light there and shoot from 3 meters than illuminating the motif from 2.5 meters and filming it. I found the durarion of the bright very poor to say the truth. Some chinese "18000 lumen (not)" are actually more potent but aldo more durable. The blue light (and uv) in this divelight is nice and you should get some real nice induced fluorescence out of it. ;)

Hi, which model would you recommend ( under 100usd and with both white and uv lights?) Cheers

This light is garbage, uses XML 2 emitters and low CRI, probably not stable output over the runtime either.

Indeed. They lose power along the hour. On max they last around 45 minutes and the intensity varies a lot. Not good for a stable video. But nice for macro if you don't keep them on all the time ;)
