UNDERWATER GOLD DREDGING IN HD 7-1-2015 Rogue River Gold

This is what it is like for those considering selling the farm to buy a dredge and strike it rich; hour after hour of relentlessly monotonous physical labor. Grabbing for rocks too big to fit in the nozzle before they slam it and you backward when they are too big to go in until your hands ache and can barely work. Maybe you find some gold but in most cases not so much. Rare pay streaks like this one are few and far between. So choose wisely before jumping in (literally) with both feet!

Hey you ever think of welding up some type of bracket on that dredge for a trolling motor to get you back and forth across the river ??.

Thanks for the warning- can't believe how much weight you have on your back. Such a good setup though you deserve to find a lot of gold.

That's definitely not a job for the weak of heart (and back). Good to see more underwater footage, sure puts dredging in perspective...

I enjoyed your dredging life! Enjoy your retirement! One question, isn't there a 4 inch restriction on nozzle size but you guys seem to go with 6. Am I missing something?

Freezing cold water, ripping currents, 50+ pound weight belts on your back, packing all your gear up and down mountain sides, throwing so many rocks that your arms and hands ache and don't want to move, cobble collapses that fill in the last hours work you did, insanely expensive equipment (at least for what it is) and constant breakdowns.... dredging is NOT for faint of heart or weak of back!

There was a 4" metal ring welded inside my dredge nozzle. The hose can be 6" but the nozzle opening must be necked down to 4".

it seems that your type of fella that will respond. I hope. I just discovered your channel. I have been a diver since the 90s and an underwater metal detector dude for a couple of decades. All of my scrap gold, my coin collection, a couple of guns and a couple of hundred of dollars were stolen from my apartment.(my carving kit and my smart phone, I could go on...) But all I wanted from my gold findings was to purify and have just one ingot. I care not for the monetary value. I now just play with Al. I Cast fire ant nests... just science geek stuff as that is what I am...a science geek. But today is my 45th bday, my girl just got remarried only three years after our 11 years...i am ready to go anywhere and just play!! it seems you are living my destiny. I ask: can I be a student? I am an environmental professional that is out of work. I NEED to make a change.. How sayest thou? I'm trying to get back on track after having my heart eviscerated. You're vids have me panting with geekness!!! I want to do what you are doing. I don't care for money, but i love the yellow color!!! it's intoxicating!! Regardless of it's value!! I hope to hear from you. I'll go anywhere. If you take me as a student, you can keep all of what I find. I just love to learn and money is nothing to me. I'vd lived long enough to know that friends and learning are much more important than money... I would be honored to hear from you Sir!

Just buy a GoPro and strap it to your head. The footage would be better and much clearer
