As someone who grew up poor and still hasn’t really climbed my way out, I hope Liam realized just how lucky he is to go on excursions like this. What an adventure. At least I can watch the videos and see places I’ll never get the chance to otherwise

@@BlueWorldTV my only comment in an otherwise amazing dive for the first one is that Liam was holding the line during the safety stop. Obviously you knew the sea there (or the guide did anyway) but its a no-no as it can pull you up and down (and some times very harshly) if there are waves etc..

Fun fact the highest point in Portugal which is Mount Pico is actually in the Azores

Again some amazing images and adventures! I visited the Azores Islands a few years ago, and they are among my favorite locations for both land and underwater exploration!

It’s SUPER good

I love the Azores. I've stopped in Santa Maria many times for fuel while flying from Florida to Europe, but only had the pleasure of staying overnight twice. I'd definitely like to go back for a longer stay and even get a few dives in.

That was some pretty good footage.

I'm about to start my journey to college with a biology degree next year, with the goal in mind of becoming a marine biologist one day. This channel is always my inspiration. Thank you for sharing with us.

Liveaboards are a wonderful way to do a ton of diving. It can be exhausting, but you get lots of dives. I usually recommend that people also plan to spend a few days before or after the liveaboard on land so you can soak up the local scene a bit too. Because that's the thing you miss on a liveaboard.

Not that deep. We had the kids with us, so we tended to keep it shallower than 100 feet. Most dives weren't much deeper than 60 feet.

Currents seemed strong, see you were paddling like hell to keep up 😮 Didn't know there were liveaboards on the azores 🤔 They do have a nice submarine landscape though !

Love it when you come to Europe, because I can recognize some fish I've seen and put some places on my bucket list. Can't wait to see what you've done the rest of the trip.

So good that you have your whole family on all your dives in this video. However it would be nice to know who's while you all are scuba diving, since you're all in same looking wetsuits.

I would just like to say that you carried my childhood and still do. I started watching your channel when I first discovered KZread. I was 5 and am now 13. Because of you, when I was 10 I decided to get my diving licence. I have been able to se so many amazing animals. Also will there be any limited Kerch this year? Last year I bought the hammerhead signed merch and ordered it to England however because of the postal strikes it never arrived😢🥺

Zimmy's soundtracks are always perfect for the tone and feel of each episode, but the segment that begins around 7:33 and fades out around 8:42 (and has tiny echoes throughout the rest of the episode) is so mesmerizing and so wonderfully atmospheric that I felt compelled to create an account just to tell him so -- and ask him if he'd ever consider compiling his favorite Blue World melodies into an album. Thanks for the reply! I really enjoyed the video from a few years back where we got a sneak peak of how you (and your pup) compose the scores for each episode -- it was interesting to see how you emphasize certain emotions and visuals, and how you also sometimes add moments of silence to emphasize words, rest the ears, change the tone, etc. The segment I mentioned before reminds me of Peter Gabriel's instrumental soundtracks, but later in the episode, I hear echoes of Eric Satie. A nice mix! I wonder if you would consider blending some of your favorite Blue World soundtrack moments into a medley?

Oh yes, we wore 7mm wetsuits and it was fine. Water was in the low-70s. Of course that's summer. If you went in the cooler months, it gets down to the low 60s!

What are those tanks? They seem short and fat.

They are steel HP80 cu ft tanks that hols as much as a normal Aluminum 80 but because they are high pressure, they can be a little smaller. One thing to know about diving in Europe (which includes the Azores) is that they use the DIN valve system. Some places have Yoke adapter valves, but not all. So bring a DIN regulator.

The capital of Açores is Lisbon, just like the rest of Portugal and not São Miguel island.

The marine life doesn't look very impressive, a lot like the Mediterranean. Is this what it actually is there? I am an U/W photographer (still photography) and would like to know if this is a good destination for u/w photography. Also, can you provide the full name and website address for the dive operation you recommend there please?
