He is smart chara is not evil chara loved its family and ever wanted monster kind to die because they were the only ones who were kind and caring for chara. But when she died she was buried where frisk falls so when frisk fell charas spirit was forged into frisk, thus giving frisk, DT, or, determination. But when the player, who was controlling frisk, started mass genocide of monster kind, chara was confused, therefore going along with what the player was doing and charas mind was infused with genocidal thoughts. That is why she appears at the end of the genocide route and also proving that chara, infact is not evil

Can we just say that it was not chara who caused genocide but the player (us) whom caused genocide, chara loved toriel, asriel, and asgore. Chara would not kill all monster kind
