    I really like the part you mention about steel sling in a straight pull. I often basket a steel sling then have a stinger run from there in a straight pull to get ropes past hazards.

    If SWL is a professional or user recommended load then why is SWL stamped on some pieces of equipment?

  • @theropeaccessandclimbingpo2380

    @theropeaccessandclimbingpo2380

    3 жыл бұрын

    That’s a great question, Some of the manufacturers will post it there to take the guessing out of it for climbing equipment. But there isn’t many items with a SWL posted on the item itself.

    Great tech talk! I highly recommend "Physics for Roping Technicians" by Richard Delaney where he dives deeper into some of the physics and mathematics involved in rope access. In my opnion a must for Level 3s :). #ropesedge Ps. First time ever that I enter a comp, but I wouldn't mind having those nice rope protections, he he.

    Hey, Richard does an amazing job with his book and his platform. But a lot of the information can easily be miss understood. So as long and the person understands it properly, then it’s all good. Sorry the comp is over, but I’m working to do more this year! Stay tuned Cheers Mikey

    @@theropeaccessandclimbingpo2380 Thanks for the reply. I did realize just after I commented that it was an older video, ha ha, silly me. I do understand what you are saying with Delaney's work, it is advanced here and there, but I still believe that at least Level 3s should be reasonable good at understanding the physics and mathematics of rope access work :). Really enjoyed the video!
