I'm a college professor and when I made these videos I had a very talented student that shot and edited the videos. I'm currently looking for another student to fill her shoes. Good explanation! Just wondering, were you using an nd filter? Possibly because of the abundance of light in the room?

You still need to set your camera to hss. So it is both a flash setting and camera setting.

HSS allows the user to exceed the cameras Sync speed. His shutter speed never exceeded the cameras sync speed so no need for HSS.
