Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

This video will help users better understand different constraint types and as well as dimensions. This video should be especially helpful for users transitioning from AutoCAD to Fusion.

Thanks for this. I have struggled with this transition having used ACAD for years. This was really helpful!

Glad it helped. I transitioned to Inventor from AutoCAD before Fusion. Biggest advice I can give you is to not try to draw in Fusion like you do AutoCAD and you will be fine.

@MechanicalAdvantage my first thought was "the grips aren't doing grippy things..."

It will be a bit of a change; but when you grasp it, it will be more powerful than you can imagine. The ability to change entire sketches, models, assemblies, prints etc with a single dimension will be a bit deal for you.

@@alex-b24 Here is another way to think about it. In Autocad, nothing moves until you use a tool to do it. Move, stretch, grips, etc. In Fusion everything moves until you put enough control on it that it can't.

@@MechanicalAdvantage that's a great way to think about it thanks!

Thanks Kevin, it’s understanding constraints that causes me headaches lol. This vid is gold, thanks 🙏

Thanks Kevin, I know I'm a little late to the party, but I've been waiting for you to produce this video for such a long time (we've exchanged emails and you mentioned that you were thinking about producing a Fusion for Acad users video). Hopefully now, my blood pressure won't rise quite so quickly when I'm sketching in Fusion, and also I won't irritate the hell out of people who don't understand why I've been having so much difficulty in getting Fusion to do what I want ... they don't get that +30 years of acad "muscle memory" is a tough thing to turn off ... :-)

Did the video help? I hope so. I know I had a hard time with the transition, but I have an even harder time reverting back to the AutoCAD way now.

@@MechanicalAdvantage Oh yes, it most definitely did help ... 😁 In the past, everytime I've got to the stage of banging my head against a wall, I've been going back to the short clips you made regarding constraints for NYC CNC, however in this case, you've approached the problem from a different angle, an angle where you are explaining for us folks that are coming to Fusion from Acad. Additionally, having the full explanation of all of the constraints in one video will make it far easier to find what I'm looking for, rather than having a number of very short to videos where each constraint in its own video. I think the final piece of info I've taken from this video is the way that you are constructing things, for instance your comment relating to the use of the mirror constraint, and why you should use it sparingly.

How do you put diameter dimension like at 14:55, I can't do that nor find the option to turn on in Fusion :S
