    Actually there is a way to tell the ratchets apart! Look at the lines around the bit hole: For 60 there are 3 lines on each side For 80 there are 4 lines on each side And for 70 there are 4 lines on one side and 3 on the other

    With the release of 2-80 having a unique shape from your traditional ratchets, I hope future ratchets like 6-sided or any others will have the same blade/cleave shape. Would be aesthetically cool for Victory Valkyrie to have 6-60 resembling Boost disc (though I doubt it since the disc was replicated along with the layer)

    here's an interesting idea i feel like no one has tried when you talked about ratchet weights. min maxed weight distribution combos. like i feel it would be interesting to see what would be the most outward distributed combos and inward distributed combos that still function in each gen. like for plastic i think heavy metal core would be mandatory for central, while the draciel shield blade base would be for outward. burst would probably use Longinus core for central and guilty blade for ourward. metal and x i don't know what would work but it would be cool to see what parts will do so. maybe wizard rod and then a bx bey with more metal towards the middle.

    Great information on ratchets! While I do agree that the 60 height ratchets are generally better, I don't completely agree that the 80 height ratchets are as bad as you made them seem. There definitely are cases where the height gives an advantage, most popular case being Hell Scythe 3-80B. Certain blades when given a height advantage, can cause the opponent to destabilize and make them lose balance easier

  • @nizumablader

    I definitely think 80 height has a place somewhere, I would definitely run 60 on scythe over 80 though. Hellscythe on 3-60b is one of the most common competitive combos since launch.

    I'm building a knight shield ball combo (cuz I like hell scythe, but I wanted to do something different, and I don't have wizard rod yet), and I was looking for a ratchet to use on it. Should I go with 3-60 to help with the burst resistance, or 5-60 to increase the weight and give it more stamina? (Or maybe another ratchet that's better)

    do you suppose the increased contact points of the 4-sided ratchet could be a benefit with the introduction of left spinning beys? theoretically, an opposite spinning bey wouldn't really burst the ratchet if it's contacting with the way it screws onto the blade. beyblade burst had the spring in the bottom to kinda encourage bursting, but with the X system, bursting is entirely based on knocking the parts loose

  • @nizumablader

    @nizumablader

    Ай бұрын

    So the ratchets have a switch to change them from left to right, so left spin will still be able to burst against right spin it’s just going to work a little differently. I think 5 sided will probably be better for left depending on what we get. I imagine most of the left spin stuff we get will be attack oriented so I don’t imagine we will be getting a lot of spin stealers anytime soon but we will see what takara cooks up.

  • @LucasTigy2

    @LucasTigy2

    Ай бұрын

    @@nizumablader i guess my thought was that, since the left spinning bey would be spinning in the same direction as the ratchet spins to clip onto the blade, that you may actually hit the protrusions and have a chance to re-tighten the ratchet if it becomes loose. i'm not saying it wont burst, but i'm curious to see how opposite spin battles play out when they are turning with the opponent's ratchet instead of against

    In what scenario would someone be using a higher 80 rachet, ie what are the benefits? Also what are the functions of the blades and the difference between for eg 5 and 9?

  • @nizumablader

    @nizumablader

    15 күн бұрын

    The functions of the blade as in the top part of the beyblade. The difference in the nubs on ratchets just affects how easily it will burst and the balance. 4 sided is considered the worst for burst resistance. 9-60 is hardest to burst, 5-60 is fairly burst resistant and is the heavier of the ratchets. 80 height more often than not is not beneficial over 60 height but there are instances where you might want to use it.

  • @carr16k

    @carr16k

    @@nizumablader thanks for the quick reply. Could I assume that the lower the number of nubs the easier it is to burst? As for the height, I just can't think of a scenario where one would use a higher rachet. Hence I'm curious.

    @@carr16k no not always, 3 sided, 9 sided, and 5 sided are all pretty decent. 4 just because of the shape for whatever reason tends to burst the easiest.
