In this absolutely mind-blowing lecture, Swamiji shares so many critical gems. Some take-aways are: (1) The goal of Maya is to trouble the souls until they completely detach from the material world and attain God-realization; (2) Maya is God’s energy, thus it can never be conquered without the grace of God; (3) While there are many pathways to God-realization, none is beneficial in the long run unless bhakti or devotion is infused in it. Without Bhakti, every action or ritual is just a physical drill. Wow, thank you, Swamiji.

Very well summarized. I would add Upwas, purpose is to come close to God. So if your mind wanders in material things or food items when you’re fasting, you are defeating the purpose of fasting. Same way as you go to pilgrimage and your mind engages in worldly matters, it is better to be at a place where you can constantly stay engaged with God. Thank you and Jay Shree Krushna 🙏

So many Sanskrit Shlokas- delivered with such rapidity, effortless ease, without the use of memory- is the Divine flowing through him. Its humanly not possible to remember all the shlokas of all the 1000s of Upanishads, Puranas, Ramayan and Bhagwad Geeta. It is Goddess Saraswati residing in his tongue. God realised saint- its apparent.

Purpose of life explained so well with simple real life examples. Bhakti and devotion is the ultimate means to know God and traverse towards His realm.

Purpose of fasting is to reminder ourselves that this body runs on prana, not food. If it ran on food it should wind down like a clockwork toy when food stops, like a car that runs out of fuel. But it doesn't. In New Zealand, a Christian group has the '40 hour famine' to raise money for its charity. Very nice. But mothers say 'Oh no! My child will die or become VERY unwell if he is forcing his little body to go without food for 40 hours! How sad😢. The mother does not understand. I paraphrase Jesus' the human body does not live by bread (food oxygen water) ALONE, but by the divine prana, that makes that corps into a living human. It enters through the chakras, divine centers in the spiritual spine, principly one called the 'mouth of god'. No food can help once this life force leaves this body. Physical death immediately comes on. I want to say how wonderful this Swami's teachings are. Little details aside. Bakti, the devoted heart is so important. To receive the blessing of a saint is so precious and could be a life treasure. To walk back with only business in ones head, so wasteful of the saints efforts. Great talk.
