Understanding Backlighting in Your Landscape Painting

If painting light is the goal in landscape painting, then we have to pay close attention to the direction the light is coming from. Backlighting creates more value contrast and color temperature contrast, it also creates more drama in your painting.

Thank you. And the demo was such a joy to watch. Very relaxing with that music and makes me want to paint (that's the goal, right?😉); alas it is bedtime now. Perhaps tomorrow.

Thank you! This was so helpful and I appreciated the longer demo at the end. Sometimes when you include a color study image at the end of a video it’s covered up with other links before I can really see it, so it was good to get a chance to see one developed.

Hi Amy, I'm glad you found the video helpful. When you'd like to see the color study at the end, just pause the video and you can see the color study as long as you want. Thanks!
