    Thanks Tony. Every thing you said was so true. My now husband was a major player, with many women at his call when I met him. I asked what was it about me that made you propose in year one. He said, “You were different. You didn’t take my calls at 12:30am. You didn’t let me come over after a night out at the clubs. You let the phone ring more than five times. You didn’t cancel your night out with friends when I literally begged you to come over. You were DIFFERENT. Our marriage hasn’t been perfect, 2017 was really tough, but we made it through and after 35 years of marriage, I thank God for a mother who said, “Know your worth.”

    This is why guidance is so needed for young people. For me, sex was always a fun activity because I thought that’s what you are suppose to do when you like someone. Now that I am older, I see how sex doesn’t mean anything and definitely does not mean a guy will stay with you and take you serious. I needed this video, because I need to sit down and be alone for a long while.

    Who is teaching boys how to become good men? Most boys are raised by their mothers in black communities. Boys need a good male image to mirror. Mothers can empower their sons in many ways, but that doesn't negate the fact that a boy needs a good man (father) . A good boy will usually grow up to become a good man.

    Thank you Tony. My sister and cousins have been getting on my nerves lately with dating advice and today I had to curse them out (they’re bullying me about being modest, calling me naive and a user of men). Basically I have a serious issue / standard with a man I JUST MET touching me in sensual areas. I’m very quick to show I dislike that behavior or I assert myself. Ny sister and cousins were vexed about me doing this because it “puts men off” when the reality is that - I DO NOT WANT a man I DO NOT KNOW invading my privacy and feeling entitled to putting a FINGER on me. Idc how attractive he thinks he is, that is my RULE. I also have a serious issue with men kissing me on the first date WITHOUT my consent or showing that I’m INTERESTED. These men will have a great time with me on a date and assume I want an unsolicited kiss that ultimately gets them blocked. A man that invades my space on the first date is a man that’ll keep testing my boundaries. I was starting to really wonder if I even liked men because I also do not like hugging a man who I don’t know. I have a serious issue with men being too friendly, sexual, flirty or anything with me and I sometimes friendzone myself with the fact I’m not even flirtatious or showing direct interest. I thought I was actually realizing I might be a lesbian since I face none of the issues with women touching me as nearly to the degree of men. My sisters bullied me telling me I’ll keep running men off and that I need to go down on a man to keep his attention and my parents raised me to be MODEST and have respect for myself. My first and only ex did not earn a real two arm hug from me until nearly six months in. We held hands around the one year mark (he didn’t like touching hands) and our intimacy didn’t kick start until later. We broke up over other reasons but the thing is he respected how long it took me to warm up and trust him. It takes TIME for me. And this wards men off because I come off immature and off putting when I reject advances when the reality is that I need TIME to develop genuine feelings and see what you’re feeling for me. When a man becomes sexual too quick (with me it’s within hours or days) I’m quick to SNIP em. I let men know I’m not the one and I’m not missing out on letting them pass on by. Any man who can’t wait, isn’t worth it in my opinion..so good riddance to him anyway.

    I'm JUST like you. I don't like men forcing men into my physical space when I barely know them. It's violating, and they know EXACTLY what they're doing when they do it as it's an ego stroke at your expense for the guys who do it prematurely i.e. first and second date. Honestly, you're not doing it wrong either. I'd let them know from the jump that you're not into physical touch with people that you don't know well.

  • @monicanicole738

    @monicanicole738

    Жыл бұрын

    @@sparklesp9304 I’m so glad to hear that I am not the only one! It’s reassuring because my sister and cousins really had me believing I was doing it wrong, telling me that “men don’t want to be friends with you, they want sex and you’re being a user of men for not allowing them to have sex with you or giving them signs that you want sex.” And I clapped back with “I want a man who can be my friend first and that comes with respect of me and knowing that I respect myself to not allow “lust” to overtake my judgement of discerning him. If a man can’t be my friend because he’s only expecting sex, then I’m good on him. That’s not how genuine relationships work nor last.” This ANGERED them. They’re vexed about my body count being 2 in my late 20s and that I have GENUINE men as friends! I was getting worried about how “off putting” I can be towards men, because one guy recently met me a single time in a parking lot, told me about himself and then I allowed us to meet about 2 weeks later, he immediately rubbed on my thigh when he sat down next to me. I looked at him, IRRITATED and I said boldly “do not touch me there again, please. I don’t know you, we’ve met a single time.” My sister got upset (she’s the one who introduced us) because she’s like “girl you have zero sex appeal and a grown man hates that.” AND? My sex appeal BUILDS AFTER I know him! She’s mad I can look at attractive men and not want to jump his bones, I need to know who he is first and that takes time, like being his friend and seeing what he’s about. My sister and cousins immediately jump in the bed with men and try to keep them doing acrobatics in the bedroom. Im going to start telling men on the first date about my no touching rule. I thought it would come off too forward, because it means he can pretend to respect my boundaries and I let down my guard and then im played. I’d rather they show me who they are, but the bad news is that I cut them off immediately because of it. I want to communicate it, I just don’t want it to backfire. I want a man to understand with the way I carry myself that he can read I am not the type of woman to accept that behavior from the jump. But if I need to start explaining it, I suppose I should do that..

    1. I say stop telling your family about dating. 2. It appears you may overthink things from the fact you wrote such a long comment. 3. There's no need to be angry when men test your boundaries. THEY DON'T KNOW YOU! Simply tell them you don't touch early in the dating stage. Every woman they go out with is different boundaries and expectations. Also, they have to know what NOT to say to you (or any date ) without taking offense.

    In my past I've always felt like prey in hindsight ... and it was all on me from not knowing how to properly vett, and at times ignoring red flags. I am seriously praying that God just allows me to be a "spiritual eunuch", especially in this day and age (it's legit scary out here) lol. I do not have the energy to filter through the bs, to decipher the games, etc. Nor do I ever want to feel used again, it's one of thee worst feelings for me tbh.

    Thank you Tony! This video really explained a lot. I don’t and have never slept around. Only man I ever been with is my soon to be ex husband. He was emotionally unavailable and emotionally abusive (just like my parents). I realized that I was never comfortable around him. And reflecting on how I got in that situation has been the greatest life lesson of my life. Never again. Now I do exactly as you say and I’m vetting everybody even potential female friends. I am highly sensitive to energy, I always have been but people in my family would tell me I was trippin or crazy because I would tell them I don’t trust somebody or something lie that and I was always right. But because they doubted me and put me down I started to not trust myself. Now I’m trusting myself again. It’s taking time but I’m definitely putting stronger, healthier boundaries up with everyone and I’m feeling good. Thanks again!

    When you started with emotionally unavailable parent/s it subconsciously trains you to pick emotionally unavailable men nd friends. I made the same mistake and when I realised I kicked myself. I wasted a lot of time but lesson learned we will never pick men like that again now we know the difference now we have learned the lesson I have turned a good few down since the last relationship because I can see the unavailable trait more clearly now and over enthusiastic men can not come into my life and hurry me to bed either. When I find out you are the same old type I block and ghost no explanation its not like they know where I live.

    It’s sad and true that we rush to sleep with one another but the pressure is real. Women run to sleep with a man thinking that will keep him but it doesn’t at all!! If that man truly cares and respect you as a woman, if you tell him no, he respects you and you wait for the intimacy then that’s the way to go but in 2022 we know men and women don’t wait. If you don’t give him what he wants, there are plenty that will and the same applies for women. This is why people are not getting married or getting married and divorced in record time!
