I’ve mixed syngonium varieties together in a bigger pot for easy care- I call it my syngonium salad 🥗

I have a Dracaena Cintho that is just right for this idea. And I have hanging baskets I can take cuttings from. Sounds like a project!

Wow! Is a very good idea. Looks very beautiful. You are very creative.🎉
I love the colors of the golden pothos with the outline of the draceana and then the darker scindapsus with the darker inside of the dracaena leaves. That's awesome.
My favorite kitchen tool is an offset spatula that I use to loosen soil from the sides of pots. I have a separate one that I use on the kitchen, though. 😊

That’s a great idea! Probably safer on the roots than the knives I use lol 😅
I never would have thought about combining plants in one pot. I'm looking for a Dracaena Margarita. Great combination of plants. I see that you used three plants. You've have a tall statement plant and spiller plants.

Result looks awesome! I use pieces of plastic needlepoint canvas to put over larger holes in flower pots. Keeps the soil from escaping out the bottom. It comes in different mesh sizes & is not expensive.

Omg Nick! The arrangement is looking soooo very beautiful! I would definitely try out some similar combos! Thank you!😀
Just brill...thanks for the idea💡Just gotta wait for spring and I'll be underplanting like nobody's business. Your planter looks amazing and the pothos really have brought out the colours on the dracaena👌🏼 Great job mate 👍🏼

L❤VE IT!!!! I am familiar with underplanting for outdoors, but never thought about indoors! What an awesome idea and it makes me want to go out and buy a big tall plant and underplant it! The neon pothos colour really makes it! W❤W!!! Thanks for inspiring me, Nick!

I have a common, green Aglaonema that I undeplanted with marble pothos and heartleaf philodendron. They look so good together! I keep the pothos pruned and bushy, so it covers some of the bare stems Aglaonemas develop over time.
Love the look of plants and pot color would look nice in my office💚

Not that you asked, but some content I would love to see from you is maybe a video of a day in your life, a grocery/store shopping video, maybe you and a friend getting drunk playing some card game or board game, plant chore/house chore video :)
I've put fittonia in the same planter as my fiddle leaf fig. Works great. 😊 So I love this.

I bet the fittonia doesn’t wilt as fast with the larger volume of soil it now shares, right? And it’ll be a great indicator of when it’s time to water again, if it does flop 😉

I’ve got a roll of cheap plastic mesh I cut to shape for the bottoms of pots with holes that big, works great, I have some along the sides of the ceramic pots also to prevent the dirt from totally adhering to the porous ceramic too, we’ll see.. Ok I’ve only ever considered leaving multiples of the SAME plant in one pot! Never mixing like you do outside!! This is brilliant, I’m going to town on one of my big guys! So excited thank you!!
I’ve recently been getting interested in this so I’m so happy you’ve done a video on it.
Looks beautiful!

I just underplanted a Norfolk pine with some string of heart cuttings! I did this maybe 3 weeks ago (?) after I realized that string of hearts is originally a ground cover:)
Absolutely gorgeous I love it. I wish I knew more about companion plants.
LOVE this idea! ❤
I loved it🥰👍😜
Great idea. The plants look so beautiful with that pot. I am going to try this for my bedroom that is gated so my 🐈's cannot come in. 2 love to nibble leaves lol

You can use the rest of the plastic pot you cut to vertically extend a pot, for example for anthuriums where there’s a lot of stem and aerial roots showing at the bottom. Not the most beautiful thing, but a practical way to recycle 😄🌿
It’s gonna look so cool if any of those vines decide to climb up the stem. And kind of braid in to the dracaena 😅
I'm trying to grow a dragon fruit tree indoors in London. It'll be.. interesting

good luck with your cactus!! dragonfruit cacti are beautiful
I planted a philodendron hastatum to climb up my monstera.. They love each other and I don’t need a ugly moss pole 😊
💚
Hi Nick! I love the way the underplanting with the dracaena turned out! Such a beautiful combination! I have a dracaena marginata that would probably look pretty underplanted. I know I'm late to watching this, but what plant/plants would you recommend to underplant with? I'm thinking maybe golden pothos, Brazil philo and a neon pothos. Do you think they would look good together? Loved seeing the pot in your room and Muffin checking them out. I really miss seeing her. Thank you so much for sharing!
Я только недавно начала использовать столовую ложку при пересадке растений и это так удобно ! Почему мне этого раньше никто не говорил ?
😂 I have a cactus with a fern - but it's a jungle fern. A piece of schlumbergera propagated itself into my pot of hemionitis arifolia
❤
I’m a pot spanker too.

Beautiful. My cat will eat it and i believe its toxic.
Wierd, I have a dracaena fragrans plant and I swear it's more root than anything. It's in a large pot for such a small because of the roots.

I thought the same thing! I once saved a big dracaena from the greenery recycling in my street and when I separated the two plants, the root systems on both were so substantial, I needed two big planters. Both are now thriving, after recovering from burning their leaves initially (totally my fault 🙈). @nickpileggi would you care to elaborate on that root statement?
@NickPileggiPlants
Жыл бұрын
They take a while to root so typically their root systems are pretty small right when you bring them home from the plant store, if you were to repot immediately
@gudrunorca
Жыл бұрын
@@NickPileggiPlants thanks for the explanation, Nick! I guess my rescue was already quite established. The root ball even had the shape of the pot (which wasn’t around it, but clearly had been growing to fit it precisely): tall and squared off. The roots were really quite thick and juicy, but there were definitely finer ones as well.
Fresh to death😅
I really dont get the avoidance of interplanting in the hobby. I literally interplant anything and everything. Firesticks and pothos, 9 sanseveria cultivars in a pot, 6 types of Jade in a pot, Ive got multiple cactus species together, I have 160ish unique plants and only about 70 pots. It saves space, money, and adds interest.
