Hi salon guy! Anyone who is ANYONE wanting an accurate video..this is what u need to watch. I was the type stylist in the northwest..did hair shows as well as spent two years learning the “French technique.” I became disabled during my pregnancy 16 years ago and had to relearn everything including the way I speak. My memory has come back but my skills level doesn’t match my brain. This video triggered the years I spent learning the years I went through learning British and French methods. Salon guy you are on point. What’s sets a good stylist apart is perfection. The parting is what sets an amazing haircut from a regular haircut. That extra time makes all the difference. I do remember doing a client for a magazine and you cut like I use too. Again this video helped me remember how to do men’s cuts and why. I have at least five shears and my least favorite are my 1200 dollar ones. If the ones you had custom done can cut like you did on that dolly.... THEY ARE WORTH EVERY DOLLAR TO ANYONE WATCHING THIS. 200 is a steal! No I don’t know the salon guy! I do know that cutting those dollies are AWEFUL! The hair is unruly and crispy and course. Like horse hair. I had flashbacks remember the sound even the hair made when I first started learning with those dollies. Human hair is WAY easier! Anyway I’m only 41 but this is the first video I have seen that brought me back a bit so thank you. My brain works faster than my hands and this video simplified everything. All of the shears I own including the 1200 dollar ones are dull and just don’t feel right for me anymore. Sharpening them the right way costs me 75.00. So the next and final set I will save for will be from you FOR SURE! I won’t be able to cut for a living anymore but I still do family and their hair is important for me to get a great cut. Anyone reading this... when I was 21.00 I had 12 cuts a day with all regular clients. 65.00 was my cut costs and I was booked out. It wasn’t because I was a master. It was because I always took the time to make sure my parting was perfect for the person. BUT THE SECRET WAS SHARP AMAZING SHEARS. I did a test on several of my clients. I used amazing shears on all of them. HOWEVER I had a pair that cut hair like butter. Like the salon guys shears. The client that I used those shears on... her hair grew out crispy perfect. I was a name back twenty years ago. After I got sick I was asked to come back with the starting cut being 125.00 a trim. I was backlogged and it was from a well known high end company. I was already making six figures (with the tips) and this would have put me into a whole new level. Point is the secret is the shears. Keep them sharp by only using the best of the best sharpener. It will be worth the customers comments and each client will tell you that they have never had their hair grow out as beautiful! I had half men as well and the all paid 65.00 back 20 years ago. It makes a difference. I will purchase your shears as soon as I pay off some more medical bills. Sorry this was so long, I just wanted to really help you understand that there needs to be more quality barbers/stylists like you. When I got disabled I lost the ability to make an impact with my words in a non lengthy way. Thank you again.

Love your tutorials! They help me a lot! I generally never put a response beneath a video. But because I really like your tutorials I really felt like telling you. It helps me so much because you also explain about the 'why ' . When I was taught to section. The thing I struggled most with is where to place te sectioning top from bottem/side. The people who thaught me had this one technique in where you place your comb horizontally, right at the start of where the hairline starts in front of the head, then you'd move the comb horizontally to the left or right which then in turn would show where the sectioning should be. But now working with clients I'm almost too never satisfied about the placing of the sections. For me personally I find it ver important to understand why of things. Every head is unique and just the 1 "trick" doesn't apply on all men. So thanks a lot !

What's a good product to use for wavy/straight hair? Also what are good shampoos and conditioners to use? Recently I'm using my sisters Garnier Whole Blends Honey Shampoo & Conditioner... I'm interested in a product that will allow hair to move freely because I always let my just air dry and it's between a soft and hard/rough texture. I tried many gels and they dried out my hair so now I have a problem... :/... A product that can allow hair to be restyled or I can just swipe my fingers in my hair and it will freely glide through. I have been using nothing for the past 2 months to style my hair because I don't want to dry it out again. I have used wax before and I'm not liking the one I use. My hair is styled as a combover, but I might switch to an undercut.. Thanks for whoever replies!!

Theodor Carlsen I been doing that for a year now. For me it's was ups and downs. My first cut was really good. Second time I ruined it. Now I have been doing it for a year and it's great I have saved so much money and with this skill it's so easy to maintain my hair. My advice it quite obvious. Watch tutorials, listen to what they are saying,be very careful, buy a great clipper oster, wahl, andis, philips are really good. Dont't take risks if you want to do something new and you don't know how to do it then don't do it. Practice makes perfect. Good luck

I'm an apprentice hairstylist/barber in canada and making a straight clean section is what you learn in like the 1st few weeks of hair school, I'm surprised you've seen barbers that section without a comb and make a clean straight section, if I saw a barber do that, it would be a big red flag that they're an amateur or havent gone to school and arent a professional, since you HAVE to be licensed in Canada :^/
