“Undercover Saboteurs”, 1:35 Military Scale Model Diorama, 2012
This is one of the dioramas built in Hardcore Amateur Phase of my military scale modeling. In addition to my long term tradition of Historical and technical inaccuracy, works from this phase also sees more Sci-Fi themes built upon World War II or fictional scenarios.
I wasn’t necessarily into military genre when I built my first few AFVs in 2003. I just loved assembling models and wanted to build a few tanks and trucks for a small plant area in the yard, in a sense like having a shipwreck decoration in an aquarium. After being done with the vehicles, I changed my mind to make a few dioramas and see how it’d turn out. The first few dioramas had a rather-pacifist theme as conceptual pieces, followed by some dioramas that felt more… uh… normal. And then it got crazier and crazier. Eventually my military modeling journey has evolved way beyond the original intention of having a few AFVs over plant area like garden décor.
I’ve been building scale models with a desire to make a portfolio book. As result, my primary documentation method has always been still photography until recently I began to see video as a form of showcasing alternative. Consequently, all the process and finalization of my works prior to 2019 are recorded as still images. I’ve started shooting videos of old, finished works beginning with ones that are still within my reach at this time, but the process of making, unfortunately, will have to exist only in the form of still image XD
Be sure to check back for new, upcoming projects-singles and dioramas-that will have both process and finalization in real video, not slideshow kind of video. Hope you find my stuffs interesting and fun to watch as they are more concept/story-driven : )

I started implementing narrative voice over in my later videos but that's after this series. You gave me an idea of re-editing my older subtitle-only videos with voice over like you suggested!

You mean what kit? If so, Dragon 6076 1/35 German Sturmpioniere. That part doesn't reference any specific scene. I got the idea from movies and video games in general. Instead of a gun as the kit intends, the soldier in the middle now holds a bunch of explosive. ; )
