My four year old is obsessed with cookie decorating videos and she was quite upset that your animals didn't have any eyes lol jokes aside, these turned out beautifully

What is it with kids and eyes (mouth too)? My brother is 3 and is always asking "where are the eyes" or "I can't see the eyes" (or "it doesn't have any eyes") when looking at pictures (or the real thing, but pictures come up more often). Usually it's because it's just so small that the eyes are hard to see, or very dark eyes and around the eyes, but also when an eye is on the other side, or they're not visible from a top down view or something.

@@dothedo3667 I'm no expert; I'm just a humble mom here, haha, but I think it has a lot to do with the fact that it is one of the first features that is easily identifiable as a kid. We spend a lot of time up close and personal with them from the time they are babies throughout those toddler years, so it makes some sense why they'd be obsessed. My kids are also that way with noses, but in this case, she was very irked about the eyes, or lack thereof.

Lovely!
These are beautiful and look delicious! But dang, they would be hard to eat because they're pieces of art! May I ask what is the point / purpose of poking those holes under the icing?

Hi Grace, I'm very new to cookie decorating and have been binge watching your videos and learning so very much. I think but not sure the reason that you are putting little holes in cookie before icing? Thanks for your help and time in making such wonderful videos that are so informative. Made your cookies and icing recipes and loved them. Blessings to you and yours.😊

Hello! Thank you for watching my videos! I poke holes in the icing because it helps prevent craters in the icing.

Those came out so great!! Colorful and fun. Question, how do you get the white crackle top on the scallop and starfish cookie?

Bakers that do these in my area, charge a hefty price for these cookies. It’s understandable though, they take time making❤️
Beautiful! I am curious about the different methods to avoid the icing from caving in. Sometimes you prick the cookie and other times you use a thicker consistency under. How do you know when to use which technique?

Nothing works 100% of the time, but poking holes in the icing seems to work most consistently.

How come u poked holes in the icing underneath the turtle's body? Also, how did you do the pretty white bit underneath the starfish n purple shell? I love your work so much- genuinely inspiring ❤!

I've never seen someone poke little holes in the icing before piping the icing on top. What is the purpose of that? 😮 I'm not a cookie decorator; Just a watcher. I see people fill in with a little squiggle of icing before piping the outlined area full of icing. Still not sure what that means but Ik everyone does it. But in all the piping videos I've watched over the years, I've never seen someone poke tiny holes in the icing. I'm so curious!
