UNDER THE ELECTRIC SKY is an immersive 3D documentary exploring the allure of the EDM phenomenon told through the experiences of six different groups among the nearly 350,000 festivalgoers attending the Electric Daisy Carnival (EDC) 2013 in Las Vegas. Combining those personal stories along with performances by Fatboy Slim, Kaskade, Dillon Francis, Afrojack, Above & Beyond, Armin Van Buren, Avicii, and Tiësto, directors Dan Cutforth and Jane Lipsitz bring the event to life by going behind the scenes to show what it takes to stage one of the biggest parties in the known universe. They chronicle the unique journeys of individual attendees from different walks of life, all of whom share one common desire -- to shed their inhibitions and immerse themselves in this judgment-free celebration of life and music. Renowned artist Kaskade created the musical score to accompany the film, and KCRW music director Jason Bentley acted as the music supervisor for the documentary.

I miss him so much
This used to be on Netflix for a long time and now it's not. Gonna try to watch this again. It's WAY DIFFERENT NOW than in 2013
EDC was my mecca. Twice still wasnt enough
Much has changed since this documentary was filmed. EDC is more of a spectacle now compared to 2013.
I was there for 2013. It was ***epic***!. Never had a chance to see this doco though 😐

The name of the song is Summer Nights by Kaskade...the one for EDC and the movie is a remix. Look for "Summer Nights remix"

I ate with one friend in highschool, and I just got 40 hugs at above and beyond yesterday from strangers who showed more connection with me than people I've known for years. Its magic

austin shockey He's referring to peoples reasons for going to these. While I'm ok with big shows, I've been to quite a few myself, it's slowly but surely becoming more about "just going" than listening to the actual music. Once I turned 21, I started just going to see DJ's I like in small clubs and venues, it saves money, time and typically gives you a much smaller but more dedicated crowd of fans. When I have gone to said "big festivals" I always go because of DJ's/groups I want to see. The more popular these get the more it's seen as an excuse to just party with friends for the sake of partying. And again, I'm down with partying, but it's just unfortunate that it's becoming more about the "festival" in "music festival" and less about the "music". Just a long time electronic music listeners view point.
