I mean The Seine River did flood in 1910 and rose over 26 feet above its average height. But that was because it was carrying winter rain water from its tributaries. It was catastrophic. So it’s possible for that river to flood Paris. Now idk if it’s possible to flood ALL of Paris to that extent and it’s definitely not possible for old artillery shells to cause a Tsunami that catastrophic but the river itself can and has flooded Paris before

London still finds unexploded ww2 bombs from the blitz every few years, Farmers who now farm the land where battles like the somme in ww1 took place still find shells on their land (they call it the iron harvest) a quick google confirms a news story from 2022 about finding 120 ww2 artillary shells in the seine, which timeline wise, might have been a major inspiration on the film itself :D

France soil is filled with unexploded shells from WW1 and WW2, especially in the East. During the battle of Verdun, it is estimated that 15 millions shells did not explode. Tons of undetonated munitions are digged out every year and the area is prohibited for any human activity. In February, more than 300 unexploded shells were discovered 5 meter deep under a house near Reims.

@SEMIOPTERA
14 күн бұрын
This is what I'm thinking too, why did they have the idea to blow up the catacomb? Isn't the shark already nesting there, why not leave it alone until the triathlon is over?
Where does all the water come from in the end? I mean seriously... did the grenades going off somehow magically increase the amount of water in the river? I thought it was absolutely insane that this movie started somehow reasonable and then at some point just turned batshit crazy as if the writers were on an acid trip when they wrote the second half of the movie.
@ajfeeneyruiz
16 күн бұрын
The Seine is controlled by a series of locks that regulate the water flow to prevent flooding of the city and more specifically the Metro and underground system. The underground of Paris is one of the most extensive in the world with the massive metro system, catacombs, sewage, access tunnels, and underground reservoirs. The shells blowing up destabilized all that and flooded the city. The natural water line of Paris was pushed to the boundaries of the Seine by engineering, and the shells destroyed that engineering and allowed the Seine to return to its natural boundaries and flood the underground network of tunnels. Paris is a crazy place when you realize just how elaborate it is beneath the surface and how delicate the balance is with the water. I lived half a block from the Seine on the backside of Notre Dame on the Left Bank, and my street was actually two floors up from where the original street was during Roman times. They just kept building on top of the old city. So there is literally a city below the city of Paris and the original and new tunnels below that. It’s wild.

Sharks don’t normally maul multiple people, after a sample has been taken. A shiver of sharks, are more likely to attack one target, then have a frenzy, feeding upon it. Most sharks don’t mess with humans, unless they’re old and hungry, like bears. Lone sharks, may attack one person, but there’s no reason the divers should’ve feared being killed. The fact it grew so big, may have been reason enough to destroy the animal right away. Jaws has been remade, or the main story ripped off, for nearly 50 years now. The shark from the novel is a Bull Shark, the actual most deadly sharks, but they aren’t that big, so they used a great white, even though there hasn’t been many attacks by them, in recorded history.

I watched the movie because I knew what would happen in the last 10 minutes and wanted to watch the chaos 😂😂😂
1:25 I died
I have a 5K fun run scheduled for next weekend and I don't feel safe at all!
They shoulda called Sharkbusters
The fact there was live ordnance in the river alone should have gotten the race canceled. This makes me miss Deep Blue Sea even more
Was left speechless at the end of the credits.
Aquaslash made me so hesitant on going down a goddam water park slide. So hesitant that I was like nope and went back down the stairs
when Lilith ate Mika I was so happy and from then on it was pure confusion
The clip of Vince Raines asking for his legs is from Piranha 3DD. The sequel to Piranha 3D, the original movie in which Raines's character lost said legs. Now I must question everything in this review. :(
You could see people on the Eiffel tower after the flood. They must've had a great time, lol.
I know people that celebrate new years at the stroke of midnight for Sydney Australia, regardless of where they are in the world, and regardless of the local time zone. Don't know where they are for their new years celebration, but they could be doing the same thing here.

They were out doing research and were celebrating New Years in Paris while being in a different time zone.

@@shibitoobscura3348 I meant that my associates celebrate new years based on Sydney time not local. So once it hits midnight in Sydney Australia, as far as they are concerned, it's now new years regardless of where they are. So with them counting down and celebrating new years in the middle of the day in this flick, I'm inclined to believe that they are celebrating it based on midnight in Paris and not the time zone of were they are currently.

@@mathewpoole3589 Ah, I see, interesting. Well, this Flick is weird on that and sure would drive people into making this false assumption. I live in the center of France and the célébration of New Year is always based on midnight local time, never on Paris time.

@@shibitoobscura3348 ? Isn't Paris the same time zone as the rest of France? Or do you actually have different times? Didn't think France would be big enough to have different times zones.
I kinda knew this movie would be bad, but I didn't expect it to be THAT bad. It's not even entertaining
After watching this movie I’ve realized my life goal……to become a professional shark sniper. 🤦♂️
I hope there's a second prequel to this.9/10 for me.
Never really rooted for the Sharks before, it was a refreshing change for once with this one.😂
France have equivalent movie for Sharknado, this is definetly Sharknami.
Entertaining. Decently dubbed. Worth a watch. Downside - some cheap jump scares and stupid plot conveniences, but I'm being picky.
7:34 fully agree.
The problem with this movie is that it has many plots inconsistencies
As a French person who dislikes Parisian people, I really liked the ending. The beginning with environment and diversity morale made me yawn but it finished in comedy gold after Mika got her little punishment.
This movie can be a part two💯
