I am a woman who lived as a man for ten years. I am now back on the right track and in RCIA. I was just saying how I wish that in that ten years someone, anyone would have had the kindness to tell me that God loved me as he made me. Instead everyone just went along with it. I e-mailed Bishop Stowe and told him that what he is doing is not a kindness.

I just watched Matt's interview with Chloe Cole. I'm going to your channel now. I used to work at Seattle Children's and we were starting to do top surgeries on kids. I'm a surgical tech and assist directly the surgeons. I had to refuse to do a case of a mastectomy on a 16 year old girl to "affirm" her transition. We met the folks running the "gender clinic". They are ruthless in their endeavors I can attest. They use emotionally charged tactics to convince the staff to go along with these various "treatments" Its horrific. I pray for the children suffering from these identity issues and pray we, as adults, parents, Healthcare providers will stop this madness. God bless you and I'm so happy you found you're way out!

Hermits leave the world to seek the voice of God. This person is listening to the wrong voice. Meaning they should immediately be released from the life of a hermit. This is a violation of the vow of obedience of the highest order.

Yes I would have more respect for this poor individual if they did indeed devote themselves to prayer, repentance and a life of leaving the world (as opposed to coming out, waving the trans flag in our faces and concentrating on theatre efforts).

I was a man living as a woman. I thankfully never had surgery but I was on cross sex hormones for years. I thank God every day that he brought me out of that an on Easter this year I was welcomed into the Catholic Church and persue apologetics. I have only ever found true love and acceptance in Jesus Christ’s church once I began to love and accept the person God created me to be. I am NOT a mistake and anybody who believes they are supposed to be trans need to realize this fact as well. When you were conceived, your biological sex was NOT a mistake nor was it something God wanted you to discover for your own. You are the sex you were born for a REASON.

Just a gentle reminder that we should we follow our God and our conscience and not the luxurious heresy of modernism. If the world is being gentle to us with its 24/7 messaging to be on message, were doing it wrong. If you analyse the No longer trending term "dead name", you will see their is an implicit self sacrifice and rebirth, a mockery that hides the absolute mental anguish she has gone thru, leading to the extreme fake solution euphoria before the final crash of despair , it is self harm by proxy, increasing the likelihood of mortal self cancellation, why would we enable this, either to go along to get along or to fatally pander to a vulnerable soul? Nice, is absolutely, not nice!

I live on the edge of a neighboring diocese to the diocese of Lexington, the closest parish is in the diocese of Lexington. In preparing to serve at this parish with the bishop my son was instructed not to genuflect because lady named Karen found it too distracting. We were also told Karen was allergic to perfume so no incense would be allowed. I asked when I could meet this wonderful woman and was informed she wouldn't actually be at the mass. We now drive an hour to our local Latin mass in our own diocese where my son enjoys serving every Sunday. Silver lining I suppose.

If you are, take your focus off of these things for a while. The reason the Catholic Church exists, even if the leadership was rotten to the core, is to encounter Christ. Don't let the scandals, disappointments, sacrileges, heresies cause you to lose your peace. Do what you can, pray, fast, Rosary, correct your priest or bishop if they stray form the straight and narrow. The rest, you can do very little about.

This is one of those rare cases where if this person never said anything, no one would have noticed. When I first saw news about this and saw the picture, I thought it was some stock photo of a hermit and not Matson. Then reading and realizing that the picture was of Matson I was shocked at how “well” transitioned this person was. If the whole point was to live like a man without anyone knowing the difference, then this person could have accomplished that easily. But instead, Matson had to go and say basically “It’s not enough that I get treated as a man, but you must know that I’m not really a man, but am a trans-man, so now I’ll never be treated as just a regular man…” Doesn’t make it right or truthful, but no one would have known any differently had nothing been said.

She had to expose her true identity, because this is the first step to allowing women to be priests. First it is a woman,who says she is a man, becoming a brother. Actually she now resides permanently in "uncanny valley", she has small features, even for a female, a sparse stubble beard and carries her weight in a female way. The mannerisms are incredibly female. Another example would be a media darling gender studies professor who is also diminutive, dresses like a dandy, and remains effeminate to the point of veering into camp in her gestures. This sketchy performative masculinity seems to be more of an unhappy, unintergrated, emotional shield than an identity, given that the impact is a very mixed message, theatrical, and the theatrical people she is working with, are equally "modern"(This very attention seeking is an opposite career for a hermit of course!!!) what we experience here is chao, a series of double binds layered into into an "oil and water" unstable order. I live in the Diocese of Lexington and am so tired of our Bishop serking nationwide (worldwide) notoriety for "groundbreaking " "theology". Bishop Stowe, along with several of his priests and deacons, make it so difficult to teach the truth. Please flood the Diocese and Bishop Stowe with prayers, i think that is the only answer! Saint Joseph, please protect His Church!!

It is very sad that this individual got that far in discerning their vocation in the Church and no one loved "him" enough to teach "him" the truth about "himself", "his" vocation options and importantly the truth about who God created "him" to be. I think going along with this is abusive on the part of those who were supposed to be guiding "him". The Bishop should be made aware of the damage he contributed to this person's soul. Very sad story all around.

What I find really sad is that Catholicism has so much to offer. It was Father Mike a Catholic Priest on KZread talking about our bodies being good gifts from God that finally got thru to me. And I was so scared the first time I sat down with a Catholic Priest. But they are the ones helping me out of a mess I created. How do rouge Bishops get away with this kind of thing?

Focus on finding a good, reverent parish and focus on Christ, not what men in the hierarchy do and do not do. I mean this in the *best* way. Father Mike Schmidt is awesome!

That’s my Bishop, the faithful that I know are all heavy hearted because of this constant nonsense, we are hoping justice will be done to him from the hierarchy and that he will be disciplined properly. Truly, We secretly wish him to be removed totally from the episcopate.

When i came across that news, I was shocked but also very glad she wasn't ordained a priest both for her soul, souls of her parishioners and the Catholic Church.😱 Maranatha!

I am a finally professed Diocesan Hermit; this profession in KY of Matsen is a travesty and inappropriate in the radical truth one must live to live the Evangelical Counsels in prayer, penance and reparation in the silence and solitude. If this profession as a hermit is merely a “step” to forming a religious community for artists, this is antithetical to the vocation of a vowed hermit. The whole sad, untruthful affair is an exercise in self will run riot.

I hate to say it, but the Diocese of Lexington, KY is under Bishop John Stowe, a shepherd who has not led the Church as well as he should have. Please pray for him and the Diocese I am in close proximity to, for that matter the Commonwealth of Kentucky. And pray for all of us dealing with mental illness and dealing with sins of the flesh and soul. St. Dymphna, patroness against anxiety and distress, please intercede with St. Joseph who terrorizes demons, and the Theotokos and Christ who trample them.

Sat in an Catholic lgbt workshop where the panelist was proud his fiance was the first baptized transgender in the arch diocese. These people find it the new frontier and the bishops and Pope supports it...... Hence why vigano was excommunicated in 30 days but rupnik and James martin remains.

It is a bad path to go down. I am currently an Episcopal. The Episcopal Church has gone down this road. And I am leaving the Episcopal Church. Once you (man) get to decide truth, instead of God, everything is up for debate. My Episcopal Priest does not believe in the real presence of Christ in the Eucharist, that Mary is a virgin, or even the definite reality of heaven. My church is not an anomaly.

Catholic teaching has consistently maintained that there exists three, and only three types of persons: 1) Divine persons - God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit, the three persons existing from eternity past to eternity future. 2) Angelic persons - St. Michael Archangel, Lucifer etc. all such persons being created by God. 3) Human persons - All humans persons are created by God, of which there are only two sub-types, male and female persons. Genesis 1:27, 5:2, Matthew 19:4, Mark 10:6. I live in the Diocese of Lexington and have my whole life. PRAY FOR US, and other dioceses with crosses (bad bishops) like us to bear. While agreeing with very little of what he says or does, we are still called to respect the authority he has been given by the church and trust that Jesus sees all and will bring justice in his own timing. To be honest, the church in downtown Lexington that has an “Our Lady of Pride” with a rainbow flag draped over our blessed mother, brings me much more pain and heartache than this “hermit” business.

Yes i did question a 'hermit' putting himself all out there and even having a facebook account. The Bishop seriously needs to consider if he is subordinating the infinite to the finite, and is he doing this simply for an easy life.

Support Courage International. It's the only answer the Church has so far to these problems.

I called the diocesan communications department, very stubborn. Unfortunately very in their own world. I also did explain that there is so much more information that has to be looked at in this reality. It’s not only the bishop, it is the people that are also feeding and being fed false information in his circle. So many continued prayers

Hey just a few factual errors: Portsmouth Abbey is in Rhode Island, not Ohio. And the abbot was aware of Matson’s gender identity when accepting him as a temporary member of the community. And I don’t think Stowe “sent” Matson there. You’d have to get clarification on that.

This is wrong on so many levels but the thought that this action of Matson and acceptance by a bishop will give entree to men who identify as women to enter convents is horrifying. This must stop now.

I have actually met a male Anglican 'nun' in 2016. He was in the habit, giving a speech at a political rally in Norwich, England. I went up to him and gave him a rosary I'd prayed on. We talked briefly - he told me he'd made a mistake transitioning, and if he'd been properly counselled he'd not have done it. So, the bishop basically said if no one knows about the "quiet" sin being committed, it will not count - or did I hear that wrong? But to be honest, I am thoroughly confused as to what is really going on Mattson, but I am not confused and know that the coverup or acceptance from the clergy is wrong.

Do Catholic hermits have health insurance? Health insurance will typically cover testosterone. I don't approve of it. But it is not the hardest drug to get. When I lived in TN and did not have health insurance it was about $85 for a three month supply.

Can’t understand this one little bit. Is this person a monk who wishes to be known as a nun, or a nun who wants to be addressed as “brother”? If hermits seek solitude, why does this one use FACEBOOK?

Do you remember when we were young and they would beep out vulgarities on tv? Now we have to beep out the proper sex of an individual. My, how times have changed.

To paraphrase the brilliant quote from _The Princess Bride_ -- "You keep using the word 'hermit.' I do not think that word means what you think it means." Imagine a hermit being fixated on his or her primary and secondary sexual characteristics.

I saw Fr. Leo speak on this on his show also and am stunned how this person is 1. so convincing as a man and 2. has been allowed to go through various Catholic activities as a "man". I'm saddened.

I am genuinely confused. I studied with the hermit, we were in the same university chaplaincy and he was always male then, I didn’t know him as anything else, so it is very surprising to me to here that is not the case. I knew he had gone to a monastery and then become a hermit, but the trans thing just baffles me, he hasn’t changed in appearance at all. I write simply because I am confused. Where does it say there was a transition from anything to anything?

S/he is an actor, an 'artist' and this is 'their' greatest role and longest playing sitcom. The Church has been duped, hoodwinked and the camel is in the tent. The timing at which the "bishop" and that woman decide to make this public was impeccable. Stowe has been putting up the flags of Sodom at the cathedral in Lexington and making blasphemous images of the crucifix for a long time now. It's unbearable.

Jesus is not happy with this. The bishop and the hermit has a lot to answer to God. Pray for them. That they rectify themselves. Their souls are in jeopardy.

Is Stowe afraid of Francis if he doesn’t embrace this horror. Is he afraid of losing his position. Where are our leaders. What an opportunity to stand up for God. Sin is celebrated these days.

Is that youtube teaching us that we are not allowed to mention gender, that we are wrong to state obvious like: she=woman, girl he=man, boy. So I will take it on myself to teach back youtube some things. So: she=woman, girl he=man, boy she=woman, girl he=man, boy she=woman, girl he=man, boy she=woman, girl he=man, boy and so on... Let all of us pray for this person, I presume it is correct to say-for her, and for his Excellency bishop, and all in diocese who are involved in this mockery. Dear lady, pretending to be a monk, I love you, and I pray for you. Let our Lord Christ touch you with his infinite love God bless you.

If this poor person leads a prayerful life, with access to a reasonable spiritual director, he will come to reality, and will be led to abandon his delusion and find peace.

A JW that used to go to Catholic grade school with me 55 years ago sent me many messages of the JW understanding of the Scriptures and of Jesus and tried to get me to agree with the JW interpretation of Scripture.

Im also concerned for this Bishops own failed representation of the OFV Conventuals. They’re Franciscans who are the same community of St Maximilian Kolbe and I also know of some amazing OFV Conv fathers on the west coast. It’s a shame he’s allowing such sacrilege!

As Fr Jason says, I am trying to give it to the Lord. I’m devastated a priest in the direct line of the Apostles outdoor say what was in that letter. The only thing that keeps me from screaming is the fact that God the Father will judge this priest in the general Judgement.

The diocese of Lexington has been the leading force in modernism east of the Mississippi since its creation. Although this news is horrible and awful to hear about, it is not in the least bit surprising, given the track record of this diocese. May St. Charles Borromeo intercede for this bishop so that he may repent of his error. Edit: If you happen to live in this diocese I urge you to not give a red cent to your parish until the persons involved change their ways Edit 2: Got the year wrong
