After seeing Gohan's huge power, Raditz realized that if he could tap into it he'd be unstoppable, so he decided to go all out and finish off Goku and Piccolo so he could (eventually) fix his ship and take Gohan with him.

There's a bit not included here where raditz stands up to Vegeta for Gohan's sake, only for nappa to notice the look in Vegeta's eye. Nappa steps up quickly and punches raditz in the face, lambasting him to stop making excuses and set Gohan straight. Although he punished raditz for his disrespect of Vegeta, you can tell he is actually saving raditz because Vegeta would have just killed him. Nappa is nicer than Vegeta and does care for his Saiyan comrades but duty comes before friendship.

All these voices done by the VAs were done so freaking well! ❤

I don’t think raditz deserved to die, he was bullied as a kid and was forced to bad things, nappa used to beat the crap out of him when he made a mistake, I feel like he could have joined the z fighters

It isn’t goku’s fault either cause from his perspective his own brother arrived and expected him to commit genocide then beat him and his best friend up and then he kidnapped his child. Then goku tries to stop him but raditz tries to beat him to death and when goku managed to defeat him he begs for mercy, and when goku shows him that mercy he tries to beat goku to death AGAIN, and when Gohan hits him Raditz tries to kill his 4/5 YEAR OLD NEPHEW, thats when goku stops him again

​@@dokkanisbestgame5158Real. And from Raditz's perspective, he expected his brother to cave and agree to go with him, in exchange for leaving his son and everyone alive. Theorized that the reason for his insistence was because he feared Frieza or even Vegeta would kill Goku if he was a liability (which turned out to be true), and he wanted to prove them wrong. But despite that, I don't put my hand on his head, either. He had a rough childhood, but it doesn't justify what he did.

It's sad how Raditz only gets love in fan work and not in the actual anime itself and it's equally saddening that fans can create better Dragonball content than the actual creator himself.

Really. In my country, there was a channel with a You Tuber Vitor who made a video talking about Raditz, about him being an undervalued character in Dragon Ball. And what surprised him was that in the comments there would be people saying they liked the character. Nor did he know that the character was greatly loved by much of the community.

i like the idea of raditz coming to earth to destroy and sell it, and then becoming goku's ally when he learned he had a nephew

This was a genuine treat to watch though voices were incredibly well done

If raditz had a soft spot for gohan It would be amazing to see this make it in the anime

I can definitely see this as being a nice lil spinoff for gohan and his uncle radish, i mean raditz.

I like the implication if this kid can be taken by the evil kings son and end up fine with them, this is at least feasible, though as a kid he did only really witness piccolo helping save him so...

The warming up to gohan is so funny as its like nappa and shallot in DBL. Which is written by Akiria!

In a alternate timeline Nappa became a movie Director and TV host at Satan City. He wanted to direct a documentary about Sayans, so he invited Vegeta and Raditz. The last one became a z warrior and took his niece to a vacation in space. That's why they're dressed with sayan armors.

Love how some of these are modified versions of Calvin and Hobbes comics

I like this alternative universe, I feel that it is something very organic taking into account that Gine in the canon was not a bad person as the original Saiyans are painted. I feel that it is a good path in this world, I like the relationship between the characters and how Gohan learns from his uncle or from Nappa

@@brolyfierro1065 si, mi punto es que solo puede llegar a ser algo adorable si ignoramos por completo el trasfondo original y las implicaciones de que raditz gane. Eso sin mencionar que los comics mostrados no muestran ninguna nocion de que las cosas sean diferentes, sobre todo la parte de conquistar planetas. Pero si no ignoramos el contexto, seria pensar que gohan tiene sindrome de stockolmo y esta completamente bien destruyendo planetas, aniquilando razas y siendo maltratado por los sayayin. Es por eso que me parece repulsiva la nocion de pensar que algo de eso puede ser "organico" o "bonito" asi como un fanfic de sonic x tails te puede parecer repulsivo. Piensalo como un fanfic de gohan del futuro enamorandose de los androides, simplemente es enfermizo y esta mal. No importa tu opinion del video, al final si lo piensas en profundidad no tienes mas opcion que llegar a la misma conclusion de que seria algo muy turbio.

Para mí resulta en algo orgánico pensar que Raditz podría actuar de esa forma al ser hijo de Gine, la idea de un Raditz cuidando y pasando tiempo con su sobrino fue algo poco aprovechado en z, ya que el personaje podría haberse usado de una muy buena forma si se reivindicara al respecto de su comportar. Preferi no pensar demaciado las cosas al respecto de ver el vídeo porque me interesó la idea y la química que podría haber en el grupo, además que hay una escena en la que Gohan aparece llevando se un insecto muerto mientras grita "¡MIRA MAMÁ, EL TIO RADITZ ME TRAJO UN INSECTO!" Cómo si de alguna forma milk/chichi siguiese con vida. Eventualmente algo podría haber hecho que raditz no destroce el planeta, como Gohan haciendo una especie de trato en la cual se une a ellos con tal de que no toquen el planeta y por ende salvando a todos los de su grupo. Ahora, yo vi el video sin la intención de buscarle la quinta pata al gato, porque como ya mencioné:me gustaba imaginar una buena relación tio-sobrino, como aparecen momentos antes de terminar el vídeo o cuando Gohan trae a otro insecto hacia raditz preguntando le cual era su poder de pelea.

​@@issukunaafraudorthegoatbut the thing is: goku will eventually be revived; the z fighters have a lot of resources for training like the gravity area thing, and since goku died he already contacted king kai and can find the general location of raditz and gohan by simply asking for help, in which case, raditz is screwed, db's multiverse has so many options and stuff in it that goku is still presented with enough opportunities to recover gohan, even if raditz destroyed earth, king kai could theorically communicate with the planet namek so that they end up reviving goku.

What could have been, if Raditz had survived and became a regular character everything could have been so different and even cooler

It’s a shame Raditz was forgotten about after after the first episode of the Saiyan Saga. There was so much more potential for his character to develop same with Nappa.

I used to think a mistake like being labeled KIA in the military be a funny sort of badge, it means you can go home and they can't give you orders. Except it also means they don't have to pay you anymore, your family maybe and help with their job prospects.

I need more of this in my life. I also like to think that even Vegeta may warm up to Gohan, eventually.

As long as Gohan becomes more powerful than Nappa, vegeta 100% would Young gohan was smart and would tread around Vegeta carefully but be capable and clownish enough for Vegeta to see him as somebody he can rely on, but also trust not to challenge his authority. Probably end up as another adopted father for Gohan lol

The time Raditz spent with Gohan helped him develop his parenting skills

So in this timeline raditz takes gohan instead of Goku then train him so… basically if this actually happen raditz wouldn’t destroy or conquer earth since well in dbz he wanted Goku to join and if he did he wouldn’t destroy earth and Goku would still stay on earth never get ssj and Frieza would still be counquering planets and beerus well he would still wake up but not think/dream about the ssjg and would probably get destroyed by Zeno since he isn’t doing his job as a destroyer so it’s a bad but a happy ending?

Btw, was this like an alternative timeline where he killed both Goku and/or Piccolo like before or after the SBC scenario, and then kidnaps Gohan into space and made a rendezvous checkpoint with Vegeta and Nappa at a different foreign planet somehow or something?
