Lara has a multi-million dollar fortune to help provide her with training and lots of weapons. It's not a case of who would defeat who in a fight, it's a matter of who the better adventurer is and Indiana has them beat...plus he came first so...

Gotta love how they gave Lara croft the character point, because Nathan Drake isn't perfect and makes bad decisions, yet I'm pretty sure Nathan never almost brought about the end of the world like Lara did in shadow of the tomb raider

Well then again I don’t really know any Uncharted game where Nate received a ton of power or used anything like that unlike Shadow of the Tomb Raider. I mean the closest encounter that Nate ever had with something that could make him “invincible” was maybe the sap of the Tree of Life, which can make you become immortal.

@@radwan9873 W którym momencie? Typek gada głupoty bo faktycznie Uncharted inspirowało z Tomb Raider ale nie było w żadnym momencie w drugą stronę. Tylko pierwsza część uncharted bo reszta to były już tylko drobne poprawki w sterowaniu i podążanie wątkami fabuły bez jakiegokolwiek wpływu ze strony Tomb Raider. W nowej serii Tomb Raider to już zmienia się w grę typu przetrwanie i nie ma tam niczego co zaimplementowali w Uncharted.

I think Lara Croft and by extension, the Tomb Raider video game franchise, is what everyone wished they'd be if we were to become a treasure hunter. Famous, successful, etc. But in reality, we'd all be Nathan Drake, just flying by the seat of our pants, seeking greatness from small beginnings, in lands Uncharted.

Well, it's more captivating and intriguing to be in Nate's shoes than Lara. Nathan started from nothing as Lara was already the heir of a rich archeologist.

The original Lara Croft when the game's first came out for PS1 and PC came with background information. she was disinherited by her father for refusing to settle down and be a proper lady of high society. She chose to get a job as a writer and rented a ran down apartment. She raided tombs for sport. Not out of daddy issues 😂 They changed it trying to be more modern? more sympathetic.? perhaps thinking it would make her more of a strong female? On top of the more recent reboot cashing in on hunger games success?Who knows But essentially we went from a strong female character who chose her own path in life to A father who is an archaeologist, daughter who hates tombs yet felt compelled To follow in her father's footsteps , Constant whining .while sneaking around pretending to be katniss everdeen 😂

I love Tomb Raider’s darker tone but Uncharted has more memorable characters.

Nathan Drake is more relatable. He makes mistakes and he accepts them. And while it's not like anyone is about to be attacked by Indonesian pirates while looking at Sr Francis Drake's coffin, Nate has loads of relatable things. He has awkward moments, outright downfalls, and some of his decisions stick with him forever. For example, not pulling Sam up in time haunted him with his 'death' for 15 years. Meanwhile Lara is always doing things right, never interested in anything except treasure-hunting, whereas Nate has a love interest, and now a kid.

Jonah: “You’re not Lara Croft.” Classic Lara Croft: “I am Lara Croft, just not your Lara Croft.” Doctor Strange: “You knew who Nathan Drake is.” Lazaravic: “That treasure hunter who’s my enemy.” Doctor Strange: “And do you think this is him?” Lazaravic: “No.”

Nate also had quite a few very underrated allies. Tenzin, Salim, Charlie Cutter, Marissa Chase

A lot of people forget some of the minor characters in the Uncharted games, that had short screen time but still left an impact. Two I can think of are probably Jeff the cameraman and Karl Schafer both from Uncharted 2.

Absolutely love Tomb Raider but I’ve played Uncharted and it’s a cool series as well.

A lot of people hate the survivor era LC because she’s more naive and self-doubting. It’s like no shit, she’s younger, still figuring out who she is, and hasn’t really become the Tomb Raider yet. Of course she’s going to be less confident. And yeah Alicia Vikander was fantastic as LC. Personally after playing the first couple TRs on my ps1 as a kid I didn’t even really get into the franchise until the reboots.

@@carloszestyboy2901 If they ever decide to release ports for modern day consoles, you should play the Legend/Anniversary/Underworld trilogy. Especially Anniversary, as it was a remake of the original Tomb Raider game from 1996.

It never actually feels like a competition, it feels like you pick the winner and work backwards

Haven't played Uncharted yet, but it seriously looks bloody amazing. The Tomb Raider reboot are amongst my favorite games, Shadow of the Tomb raider being my favorite. I think I've replayed it almost 10 times. I'm sure Uncharted will scratch the same itch and be just as awesome can't wait for it to come to pc!!!

I wanted Uncharted to scratch the same itch you mention lol, but it failed miserably in doing so. There's practically not much to explore and don't even get me started on the two, three puzzles that I solved in like a matter of secs. Very rudimentary and simple. So if that's what you want from Uncharted, it won't offer you that. If you want a strong, compelling story with some very good characters and pretty locales, and you're not worried about good gameplay, then you'll be happy. I do hope you enjoy it. I wanted to love that game so much..

As a fan of both franchises I gotta go with uncharted

i love the tomb raider franchise......the latest movie was pretty good. i just didnt like the direction the new games went. i didnt like how they did croft's personality and the fact that for some unknown reason they seem to love to put her through pain and make her moan a lot....also didnt like the heavy emphasis on making her a bow girl....like i get it a bow and arrow is cool, but i like her iconic duel pistols more.

I love the bow being her signature weapon. Makes sense for stealth purposes. It is 1 vs like 600 enemies, stealth is the way to go over dual wielding pistols imo.

I grew up with the Uncharted but the Tomb Raider series is just unparalleled. There are times that Uncharted are just blazing guns with side treasure hunting with story but there is just depth when exploring tombs and Lara’s personality and story makes it stand out.

Personally I love tomb raider . Me personally I love tomb raider since I’ve first played anniversary on ps2 then legends on Xbox 360. Tomb raider tho has been an wonderful adventure, the older games were good and overall fun to play. However with uncharted, the characters I like is the brotherly relationship between Nathan and Samuel Morgan/ drake. The uncharted series was good not masterpiece like last of us 1 but good. Tomb raider reboot trilogy series was air grounded, darker which intrigued me by the start, I love Lara Croft. I like Nathan drake.I don’t care who likes who or what’s better or what whatever… I love Lara Croft and I like Nathan drake.There’s no good and bad truths. Y’all opinions have zero affects on how I love these characters. Though I like uncharted, the watchdojo is true to his research, uncharted has been inspired by Indiana jones and tomb raider was created way back in 1996, I miss the OG Lara Croft, but I love the newly rebooted soon unified Lara Croft. She’s like the female version of Bruce Wayne/Batman mixed with Indiana jones and being a archaeologist and tomb assassin, and she’s very beautiful. I’m more invested in the tomb raider reboot trilogy series because Lara Croft has more deep affection of her character development. She’s like playing a female Batman/ Indiana jones like character. Uncharted is a good franchise but sometimes I do often get bored or uninterested in the games. The games have excellent storytelling, but it’s doesn’t interests me at all. It’s bland, boring and it’s like the pirates of the Caribbean. And this is someone whom played all 4 uncharted games. It’s too realism and grounded with no supernatural elements that feels more entertaining than watching people looking for treasure. I don’t understand why people like uncharted? It’s all pirates and treasure. Tomb raider is tomb raiding with cool military organizations and supernatural elements like creatures demons etc. overall this rivalry between the two is stupid, they’re just video games. I don’t fuck with uncharted what much as a lot of video games. I don’t give a fuck about other peoples opinions. I love tomb raider. Though I believe uncharted has better graphics and gameplay, the tomb raider reboot trilogy is superior when it comes to narrative character development and open world with beautiful cultures and religious elements in a globetrotting adventures. I like both but 100% Tomb Raider is superior. It’s an OG everlasting pop culture.

@@DemonKingNemo Prequel to the game events? Not fitting at all. The plot details of how Sam and Nate separated are very different from those in the game. Same for how Nate met Sully, and Chloe's past with her father. The film is obviously going on its own direction.

@@lskknl10 Except that it was Flynn who betrayed Nate, not Chloe. She also had legit feelings for Nate and only refused help out of jealousy. Plus she wasn't anywhere loyal to a greedy pirate like in the film. So yeah, that's a very different character from the film.

If you love Fast and Furious you should watch Uncharted. If you love the reboot TR you'll like TR movie too.

Gotta give Uncharted Credit if it wasn’t for the Uncharted Trilogy Tomb Raider wouldn’t have stepped up there game and release the 2013 Reboot which bought Lara Back.

This is actually a lie the tomb raider reboot was planned during tomb raider legend development back in 2005/6. It wasn’t uncharted at all that inspired the reboot as uncharted wasn’t even being thought of (:! Simple research, hope this helps!

Also if you look up TOMB RAIDER:ASCENSION it seemed tomb raider was taking a more horror approach and more so based upon the film rhona mitra (original model for classic lara Croft) did. (Again this is all very basic research. Square Enix/Crystal releases this stuff to keep fans in the loop of development of TR games from legend to now

You would also know it was a remake, not a reboot so that point you made is a bit moot. TR2013 very clearly took inspiration from uncharted in terms of gameplay and it would be strange to deny that. Ascension seemed to be more like silent hill or something idk

Nothing against his acting but his personality it is too bland and dark (yes I know that Batman should be dark, but Bruce should definitely develop feelings and personality,) and Tom is well, a tiny british kid. @@RareHarmony Yes i know that Tom doesn't fit the character of Nathan Drake and i would rather have Jensen Ackles or Sebstian Stan or even Chris Pratt as Nathan Drake, eventhough the movie was enjoyable like the Rock Blockbuster movies not because of the cast, but because of the storyline.

I love both franchises but I still give the edge to Tomb Raider. TR 3 x 2 Uncharted sounds just right in my book

I prefer the older Tomb Raider games (specifically the first reboot starting with Tomb Raider Legend) as opposed to the new ones. Lara Croft has become melodramatic like nearly every video game character these days. I rather just play with a cool character and learn about them through their actions, not through painfully long cutscenes. The classic Lara was cool, unique and left an impression, while the modern Lara is just as bland as most modern vg protagonists. Plus there's barely any raiding tombs in the latest games because they try so desperately to be a "character driven" game.

Actually one might argue that most video game protagonists these days are way more interesting and complex than they ever were before. And that's because we are in an era where even in Video Games,the gameplay isn't everything and not enough for most people to cough in 60 bucks. Now their stories and characters matters as much,if not more in a lot of cases. Mass Effect,Gta,Rdr,Uncharted,God of War,Lou,Spiderman,Witcher 3;these are all games with pretty stellar gameplay but that's really not what they are remembered for because now video games have evolved to a point where they are at par with movies and tv shows when it comes to pure storytelling. Now getting into a more subjective area,I think the Tomb Raider reboot trilogy is also a good example of good storytelling and character work. Not trying to start an argument here but Lara Croft before was mostly a copy paste of the generic male action heroes famous at that time. I do admit that she was a fairly entertaining character due to her sarcasm and wit,but that is also like the most overused and easy to write character trait in history. And to some people she was merely a sex symbol,which the games surely didn't try to hide or not take advantage of. Now I don't feel like explaining why the current Lara is a much nuanced,layered,unique and well written character because this comment is getting too long,but atleast imo,being as big of a gamer that I am,I really don't know any vg characters who are similar to her or have even went through the same arc as her. Again,not saying the current Lara Croft is the best written character ever in a video game...but she still holds up pretty well on her own and does the job of what a good character should do in a story. If the old Lara Croft worked for you then thats great,I am not against that...but I will atleast share my thoughts on why I like this one more. I also do believe Uncharted and Tomb Raider should be tied in a comparison.

I'd rather have it stopped and have its legacy saved, than make it a generic character driven type of game because Tomb Raider is never about that. It's not about CHARACTERS. Gamers these days are obsessed about characters. I'd rather have TR dead than have it altered beyond recognition just to appease the mainstream audience. I don't trust mainstream audience because they like generic games. Games that only ever focus on storytelling. If it was another game, and if they named it differently instead of Tomb Raider, I'll be fine with it. I don't understand the need to use the "Tomb Raider" name when all they did was to butcher it and has 0 resemblance on how a TR game should play. Sad that they have to rely on an existing IP when they could have just easily create a new franchise.... Instead there's a plethora of modern gamers these days who trash the OG TR games and make fun of it, and we have this classic vs reboot fan wars. Also, classic TR fans can no longer make an argument about reboot TR game without the reboot fans feeling personally attacked as if it's them who were being criticized.

I started the year with replaying the new Tomb Raider games (with finishing Shadow of the Tomb Raider a few days ago) and gosh has the most recent title a great story! I basically kept stalling my story progression to not re-experience the saddest moment in the game. Can't wait for the new series, the new game (and hopefully second movie...). I am so glad that Tomb Raider won this battle.

I didn’t like the uncharted story in the first game but as a whole franchise they are fun I liked the Tomb Raider franchise more Both feel like action adventure movies

Incharted takes the win for me played both series enjoyed uncharted series more .

I like both franchises and I for me I will stick with both. To me they both are good.

Tomb Raider ❤️

Tomb Raider paved the way for graphics, gameplay and female characters. Lara was also the first 'celebrity' video game character and kind of changed the public's perception of video games being not only for kids. Uncharted didn't do anything new (that doesn't mean it's bad). But without Tomb Raider, there would be a big butterfly effect of how the game industry developed. Without Uncharted? Nothing would really change

I would say the old style of Tomb Raider games revolutionized the game industry, the reboots really haven't done much of anything good at all. Uncharted perfected what the new Tomb Raider games were going for.

I think Uncharted refined Tomb Raider with a different feel. Instead of a brilliant serious kick ass Archeologist who often times lets her emotions and obsession with discovery get the best of her, we play as a brilliant sarcastic kick ass professional Thief who' often times lets his obsession with adventure and fortune get the best of him.

@@jayseepea Resident Evil 4,5,6,7 sold more than any of Tomb Raider games. Doom and Wolfenstein are the first fps games ever made. Prince of Persia was the first Motion Capture made video game. Lol I dont even know any of 40+ person even heard of Tomb Raider. But Resident Evil is a popular movie franchise too. Which grossed over 1 billion(Which is populer than some horror franchises like Alien,28 Days)

I've always found tomb raider to be clunky as hell with meh stories. Ive always loved Uncharted. I prefer the gameplay, better stories, and a graphical showcase of Uncharted. The series has always been a major system seller. The cast is far more memorable than Lara and her butler.

Some ppl in these comments are throwing tantrums geez everyone’s in titled to their own opinions. Personally I have played both tomb raider games and uncharted. I played tomb raider since it was on ps1. I personally like tomb raider more however uncharted ain’t bad. Uncharted was inspired by tomb raider however they made it different . I also really love the fact that tomb raider is a female character.

My friend was like fan of Uncharted, until when a movie trailer came up, he completely shook his head and just kept saying "no, forget it"

Uncharted gameplay is way more fun with the set pieces etc.

That Uncharted movie is an embarrassment 😆 I just hope that Holland was joking when he said he was gonna play Jak in a Jak and Daxter movie next

I have an easier way of making this list, Tomb Raider came out first and therefore Uncharted copied off of Tomb Raider and almost every single kind of way therefore Tomb Raider is better the end it's the original nothing can beat Tomb Raider

I grew up with Tomb Raider so i'll always have a soft spot for the series and the recent reboot was amazing with a lot more depth to the gameplay. Uncharted has great story telling, acting and action set pieces and is amazing in its own right for its immersion into its world. Theres probably a tad too many put your controller down and watch moments in Uncharted though and not as much depth to the gameplay as Tomb Raider. Both are awesome series though and I hope they keep making them.

I love both so much, but for me Tomb Raider the W here. I actually think in terms of story telling Tomg Raider is better. I was hooked from the start at every game of the trilogy, where's the first 3 uncharted games are hard to enjoy from the start at least for me, not to mention the rest of those games. Uncharted 4 and 5 are so f******* good tho. It's hard man, but Tomb Raider is better at least for me. Heard a new one is on the way so i cant wait. Hopefully one day we get a Uncharted 6.

The story & gameplay was better in Tomb Raider Legend than the 2013 prequel not "reboot", and yes her character was weaker in those.

TR2013 is not a prequel. It’s a reboot. TR legend was also a reboot. The survivor timeline is Tomb Raider (2013) Rise of the tomb raider Shadow of the tomb raider Legend timeline: TR legend Tr anniversary Tr underworld Lara Croft Guardian of light Lara Croft temple of Osiris Lara Croft relic run Both timelines have a completely different Lara and origin for Lara. Also the classic timeline (which is a total of 9 games from 1996-2003) also has a completely different origin and Lara All together their are 3 different tomb raider timelines

After playing all 3 Tomb Raider (reboot) games and Uncharted. I have to say, I prefer the gameplay of *Tomb Raider* over *Uncharted* any day of the week. Namely because the enemies of the Uncharted games are so f^ck*ng annoying to k*ll. They make sudden, weird, highly unnecessary moves making them annoying to kill and more of a chore to kill them than an obstacle or challenge to over come. I NEVER had that problem in Tomb Raider. Example, they would run right past me about a good 5 feet away, stop, turn around, and shoot a few times then run for cover somewhere else. It’s happened way too many times. OH! And landing clear headshots that should’ve killed them, didn’t register in the game. Wasting more of my bullets and breaking consistency in the game. This happened way more in U3 than any of their other ones. And that right there has taken the fun and replayability of the games for me. That and TR has better weapons to play with. Thats not up for debate. You can even customize them to fit your playstyle. Though admittedly, from TR2 - TR3 did drop in quality, story wise. The 1st being the best. And I probably played it from start to finish at least 5 times. PS3 and Definitive versions. Rise of The Tomb Raider was almost if not just as good as the 1st. Especially in gameplay. Shadow of the Tomb Raider was very…meh. Didn’t enjoy no where near as the 1st two in the trilogy. That being said though, I enjoy the characters from Uncharted over the characters from TR. I love Nathan Drake more than Lara Croft. Though I care more about Lara, of that makes sense. His charisma and wit, makes him so fun to spend time with and makes the Uncharted worth playing Despite the frustrating gameplay. Especially in 3. Elina Fisher, Sully, Chloe Frazer, Charlie Cutter are all brilliant characters and made more of an impact than any of those in TR. And I enjoy the Uncharted story overall over TR.

I personally think Tomb Raider is superior. The characters are much more memorable and iconic,the settings are more creatively thought out and crafted,and the franchise is so much more.... Odder,for lack of a better word. Uncharted doesn't have "here's a gargantuan hole under the Great Wall Of China,oh looks,there comes a dinosaur!" moments. And i think that specific nonsensical strangeness is charming. That doesn't mean I don't like Uncharted (quite the opposite,in fact) but i prefer Tomb Raider in most aspects.

Uncharted, Nathan Drake is a much more compelling character with a great set of supporting characters with Elena & Sully

For me uncharted is the best because it’s a memorable franchise. Tomb raider is really good but after the final game in the franchise is completed… It was left with some potential for being a memorable franchise.

The new tomb raiders are not even what tomb raider was about, original tomb raider used to be constant puzzles and adventure, having to use brain power at every turn. Now it’s just uncharted raider. Don’t like it. Doesn’t make me wanna come back to play it.

Idk if I agree here. When I played uncharted, it left an impression on me. I liked the story, the characters, the cinematic gameplay, the mechanics. But tomb Raider felt like it had no personality and was forgettable.

I'm an Xbox player so I could only choose Tomb Raider

Tomb raider is great, but it doesn’t hold a candle to the Uncharted series. Uncharted is just so much better. I would love to see a crossover though.

The fact that tomb raider dev couldnt believe that uncharted 4’s animations were not cgi just shows how far ahead uncharted is. That saying.. i am a fan of both series.. however the tomb raider reboot trilogy is something i really like. While uncharted 4 is still my go to happy game.

I hope the new Tomb Raider TV series will be better than the Angelina Jolie and Alicia Vikander films since Castlevania and Arcane both proved that video game adaptations are better on the small screen rather than the big screen.

Uncharted 2 (the best for me) 9/10 TR 2013 (the only one from the trilogy i've played so far) 9.1/10

The few things I enjoyed more with Tomb Raider is the environments were more lifelike, the wild life throughout the games was more realistic. You had everything from birds to mammals to eels to avoid. I felt Uncharted lacked in that dept also like how Laura was equipped with several weapon’s especially the bow and she added ammo as she went whereas the pick up and drop approach in Uncharted was too Hollywood. I also enjoyed the attires for Laura changing it up as you go plus the mud camo was a nice touch. Finally the exploration was better in Tomb Raider. You had several caves to explore and the games were less linear. Uncharted however beats Tomb Raider in everything else, characters, story, set pieces, and each game felt different whereas Laura battled Trinity in what felt like forever.

In terms of gameplay Uncharted for me, there are so many big moments in uncharted like in uncharted 2 the train scenes, in uncharted 3 the airplane scene and horse chase scene while in uncharted 4 the chase scene rescuing sam from ambush and who can forget that the collapsing of the building scene. In terms of add-on content or DLC, tomb raider wins especially Shadow of Tombraider. But I love and played both of them.

I played tomb raider and I enjoyed the games but I enjoyed uncharted more because its better overall,it has the better gameplay,the better storyline,the better puzzles,the character development is better,this guy is clearly biased.Yes people/critics didnt like the movie but for a movie based on video game they did a decent job with it because it could have been worser then that just look at resident evil its terrible.

I think tomb raider is just a classic and the game reboot was amazing and the movie did a good job of capturing that gaming experience. Uncharted is good too but i think i’d have to prefer tomb raider imo.
