It WAS necessary to have it in the game. This conversation reminded both Nate and the players what they were getting into since it's been a while since the last adventure. It also had the infamous "One last time" line which isn't in the game at all save for the platinum trophy.

I still can't believe that this trailer turns 7 years old this year almost a whole decade.....time flies fast when you are having fun...we will miss you Nate

CPGameface Now,that these console fanboys got some decent PC hardware they think that must be 'the best there is'. But I say give it two or three years and that hardware is so outdated we PC guys start yelling again about bad graphics in all the console ports.... just remember the last 5 years of the last generation of consoles. People forget so qick. IMHO it will happen much sooner. I'm just waiting for DX12 to be released. ;-)

OK guys for those of you who are confused between what CG, in-game and in-engine is let me clarify: This trailer is NOT CG. But is also NOT in-game. This is in-engine. In-engine means they used the engine that runs the game when you're playing it to make the trailer. This is the same thing with The Last of Us. The cutscenes in The Last of Us looked better than in-game because they're using the same engine, but do not have to render the whole level, which means they have extra resources they can use to make Joel's face look better. The same thing is happening here. I'm sure the WHOLE forest isn't being rendered. Instead, they're using those resources to put more detail in Drake's face. It's all a matter of how and where they use resources. That said, the gameplay visuals are relatively proportional to cutscenes, since it is the same engine that runs both. This means that the gameplay visuals will look like nothing we've ever seen on consoles, since the trailer is like no cutscene we've ever seen on consoles.

Want to know something funny? There's no pc game in existence that looks this good. My pc is 3 times as powerful, but I won't be seeing any games on it looking better than this for maybe a couple years... that's the nice thing about not having lower end computers as a lower common denominator sucking resources in development. Console exclusives can be very impressive!

I miss Crash Bandicoot. (No, I'm not saying that Naughty Dog should make a new Crash Game, although it'd be cool, it's unlikely. They've moved on). Besides, ND never owned Crash to begin with, Universal Interactive Studios (Or Vivendi Universal Games, whatever you wanna call them) owned the series. Then later on within time it went over to... Activision. I really hope he returns before a decade. But other than that, what are your guys' thoughts on Uncharted 4?

Today is the day... One last time...

I still come back to this trailer even now and it still gives me chills. I love the authenticity of the conversation between them both. And the one last time remark has me welling up.

That title of "A Thief's End" can mean multiple things. Most are assuming it means Nathan or Sully is going to die, but when does Naughty Dog ever do what you expect when it comes to story? Previous Uncharted titles have been pretty ambiguous. Even after completing the game. Pretty smart strategy. Those titles keep fans theorizing about what they mean until the game comes out. It keeps the interest going. If anything, it may be the end of the series, but I kinda doubt that. Unless Naughty Dog is gonna shelf the franchise for a while to focus on more new IPs that they want to create. That I could see happening, but I think they would eventually come back to the franchise. Or maybe I just refuse to believe that Naughty Dog would kill off Sully or Nathan. I could probably deal with Sully passing, but NOT Nathan Drake. Regardless, I'm very excited for this game. Cannot wait for its release. And when it comes to graphics with Naughty Dog and their teasers/trailers, they are pretty much exactly what we get in the game. They know how to develop to the extent of the console's graphical ability.

You are right. It might be Nate's end as a thief, or they might even kill Sully, but I don't think the franchise is going to end with this game. I'd be pretty sad if it did, though. On the other hand, nobody wants a franchise ruined by excessive milking. I guess things have to end eventually. We'll just have to go through the mourning process like when our favourite series end.

Nobody thinks their going to die, every just knows this is the last game in the series. They just fear that they won't get a game similar to this ever again after the series is done, which is not true.

Nimbus Of course we will be getting games similar to this but most of us here don't want to part with Nathan Drake and the Uncharted series. I am cool with having no Uncharted game for a couple years but I don't want Naughty Dog to end the series.

2015? Perfect. Enough time to purchase a PS4.

If Drake is kind of old in this game... shouldn't Sully be brittle boned at this point? Or is Sully immortal and it turns out he's actually the messiah? That'd be a fun plot twist.

CJ Jordan Drake was 35 in U3 and Sully was 60, so probably 40 and 65...not brittle-boned.

Who agrees that this is the best game out of all of them!?

I read the comments to see the hype or analyses, instead I see morons still arguing over consoles. Why it still surprises me, I do not know.

I cannot hold in my excitement for this game, but at the same time I am extremely nervous. Naughty Dog is coming back from The Last of Us to develop this game and all I can think is this one is going to be dark. Seeing Drake as an older man, with the conversation in the background between him and Sully about one last plan, scares me. It doesn't help that the game is called A Thief's End. After playing Uncharted 3, I thought that Drake was capable of anything, he was a younger guy, could fight off bad guys and there wasn't as much of a weight to killing someone. UC3 was pretty upbeat with its soundtrack and artwork and characters. I wasn't preparing myself to see someone die at the end of Uncharted 3, but during The Last of Us, I was very prepared to face a major character dying. I don't want to go back to Uncharted 4 and have to mentally prepare myself for losing a major character. I just have a bad feeling, obviously based mostly off of this trailer. I hope Uncharted 4 is just as incredible as the previous titles in the series, and I know it will end up like that, but I'm still nervous about this.

I got a ps4 last year in August along with the last of us remastered. The game is in 1080p60fps and it works just fine. So, I don't know why you guys think the ps4 will burn if a game is 60fps for single player. Because mine works just fine. Haha

Trent Fredrick I'm sure Rockstar will fix the jaggies & moire & bugs which weren't all that bad anyway,but those never spoiled their games,hich were super in every other way.

If this is in-game and not pre-rendered, then photorealism has officially been achieved in a videogame. This is pretty perfect.

I'm guessing it's in engine but pre-rendered. It's a stop gap to improve the image quality, control, load times, and more. I'm pretty sure the other Uncharted games do this also. This trailer for Uncharted 3 was in engine. /watch?v=DHHcM6aHPnE

Tristan Hollis Yeah sure but gameplay wise it's annoying for me to go back because I'm not used to the older gameplay anymore so it just gets annoying. Not that it's a bad game or anything, but it's not worth playing compared to Uncharted 2 and 3 but in my opinion, Uncharted 3 was the best in the series.
