If you have a Menard's near you, you can get the buckets and lids cheaper. Make sure you wash all of your buckets and dry really good if you are not using mylar. I use the small mylar bags so an entire 5 gallon bucket is not being opened. Love your kitchen. We have been an Azure standard customer for over 10 years, glad to see someone actually buying the mixed box of produce.

Unfortunately we live several hours away from the nearest Menards, but thanks for the tip! If we ever happen to be passing through somewhere that has one, we will definitely check it out!

If too much batter is poured into pan, pour off excess immediately. If there are holes, add a drop or two of batter for a patch. Cook until lightly browned on bottom; turn and brown other side. It may be necessary to add more butter to grease pan before pouring in batter each crepe. Stack crepes between sheets of paper towels or waxed paper until ready to use. Spread 3 Tbsp. Cottage Cheese Filling down the center of each crepe; fold the two sides over the center. Serve with Strawberry sauce Recipe for: Cottage Cheese Filling & Strawberry sauce Cottage Cheese Filling Ingredients: 3 cups small curd cottage cheese, 3 Tbsp. sugar 1 tsp. grated lemon peel 1/2 tsp. vanilla Recipe instructions: Blend together cottage cheese, sugar, lemon peel and vanilla in blender or stick blender. Use to fill crepes makes 3 cups. Strawberry Sauce or Berry Sauce Ingredients: 1/2 cup sugar 3 cups fresh strawberries or any berries you prefer or have on hand 1/4 cup water, dash salt 1 Tbsp. corn starch, 1 tsp. butter Recipe instructions: Wash & hull strawberries; crush 1 cup. Slice remainder and set aside. Combine crushed berries, sugar, water, salt, corn starch. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until mixture thickens & boils. Boil & stir 1 minute. Add butter, fold in sliced berries. My Notes: I try to remember to make the crepe batter the night before unless eating a late breakfast or brunch. I usually use frozen berries and thaw them unless there is a good sale on berries

You can use the parsnips in recipes instead of potatoes for a lot less carbs. Not sure if you’re interested in that but for me I’m trying to do the low carb and I love them for that.

I get the ranch dressing mix too and we use it all the time on so much. The biggest reason I am recording the #threeriverschallenge this year is to teach mill grinding and making bread so we can go to a more wholefoods kitchen

I have ordered from Azure standard previously, but its been a while, especially since I am way more on a budget these days. I really love the idea of the produce box, and I heard you say that they will refund if there are issues, but I was curious if those zucchini were maybe on the verge or maybe had gone bad? If just one of the items is not good in the box, would they give a discount? I love having fresh produce and would love it to be available all year round, but I have tried like misfits market and imperfect foods, but unfortunately when it got to me, it was almost all inedible. I live in a place that delivery is pretty sketchy and takes extra time most of the time. This I know would be a pickup so that would make it a little more predictable. Sorry for the long post.

  • @FromtheRootsUp

I haven’t had 1st hand experience with produce refunds, but I have seen people in the Facebook group on Azure just have one or two pieces of bad produce in their order and Azure calculates the cost of that specific item and refunds that amount. So for instance if you got two bad zucchinis and they estimated them to be $2 each, they would give you a $4 credit. I believe you have to let them know within 7 days of pickup. Hopefully that helps!
