umm it's not on the front of the laptop, it's on the side. . . . . since you've clearly never designed multiple generations of laptops, the purpose of this is that with the redesigned cooling system on 9th gen, it would only function if they removed side vents and put more vents on the back. there wasn't enough space to put the RJ45 at the back when they were done, so it's just a small compromise for better cooling, plus it'll probably have wifi 7 support if the RJ45 bothers you that much
