The reality is they are probably manufactured by the same company oversea. They manufacture one set of figures accordingly for NECA and another with either lesser quality in plastic, paints, time in painting, etc. to sell a cheaper version. Thus, they probably come from the same mold and made the same way, but short cuts are made on the fake on to save money. However, sometimes when making the fakes they might come out better than the real one, which against although we use real vs fake, it's more of a question of quality in production, since they probably come from the same mold.

I have both original and "fake" and I can assure you that they are so good, same quality in articulation and accessories. Just little color differences but much cheaper.

General Fire T-800 and T-850 from Terminator 3 are the models. The “sub-model” or what could be the serial number, is 101. Which is based on Arnold.

After watching some "T2 3D" figure reviews i'd say Neca has improved Arnold face there.

Thanks for doing this! I was looking to pick up some Terminator NECA figures but was surprised that so many were coming from China in what looked like original boxes, or with stock pictures of the real item. Gotta give props to the Chinese bootleggers for doing such a darned good job with their knockoffs that it's hard to tell the difference without comparing side by side or knowing what exactly to look for (e.g. belt buckle on back, hairline, lip herpes, etc.)

I actually like the fake one more. The head looks more natural. You know NECA is more of a toy than collector figure, so it's no big deal. I bought some Alien Neca figures from Aliexpress (maybe fake) but they looks really great and aside from the joints of big Alien queen figure it holds up well. Having them for about 5 years.

The sculpts look the same, it's just the paint that's different.

You can tell the difference in the head sculpt. Body is exactly the same

Can you do a review on fake and real for the first terminator

Real or fake, NECA sucks at human faces (ex. Ripley from the Ripley/Newt pack looks like a corpse). Sculpting by hand sounds great and maybe artistically satisfying, but the execution usually triggers buyer's remorse.

why the hell does the fake one look a lot better than the real one? wtf??!! The real one looks like "Genisys" Arnold while the fake one looks like "Judgment Day" Arnold. (+ grenade launcher's ammo color is accurate than the real one)

Put paper on the ball joint for the waist and it will hold perfectly

I'm sure the one I have unfortunately is fake as it has slightly less blood on his eye than other versions I've seen plus he's a little less detailed and the heads in the box weren't in the same positions as the real figures heads in their boxes..

I’m not quite sure if you mentioned it, but the transition between the neck and t-shirt shows a little hole on the fake one. The real one looks way much better. Love your videos by the way!

I have a fake, it seems more like the official than yours in some ways, the leg twists, colours are better (grenade belt is more golden than the yellow yours is), the heads are much closer to the official one, but then one foot is stiff and it misses a zip-paint on one leg. Less than half price of original though.

The fake one isn’t even really that bad, except him going full darth maul, it’s perfect for a custom paint job

Oh man! Now I know why my 'Neca' ultimate terminator has so many flaws! It's a fake... Only one head fit on.. barely and the other two it's impossible! And I concur, the sunglasses head had horrible mould and sunglass paint work! Now I'd rather get a Mafex version!

Yes Neca makes them with Round tape also to hold them closed.

I thought the older series had gold bullets around his neck and the new series had silver

The grenade belt going over his shoulder on the fake has much more yellow coloured rounds as opposed the real one which looks more silver.

I have a fake one for this figure and it actually looks better compared to the fake one you bought here.. It probably depends on where you bought the figure.. Or luck.. 😁

I want to get some Neca figures (regret not getting them ages ago.) But I never realised they made fake/bootleg figures of Neca so I’m worried if I get and fake and pay a lot! Do they make fake air the whole terminator line? Edit, I can’t believe all the figures Neca do now, and if they make fakes of them all I’m screwed. I also believe they don’t make the terminator line now ? So it will more likely be fakes on eBay? I really want an endoskeleton, and I remember seeing there is an old version with different paint and features (not sure?) and a new one then all these special editions in different colours and such.

Depends on which ones your looking at. The older neca ones they haven't made a lot of fakes from what I know. The main ones they been remaking are the ones in the boxes. I will try doing a all over video of all the fakes I know.

The Collection Dimension I really want to get the ultimate terminator figures. I can really only find them on eBay. And when I get where they are coming from (like China.) and the price they are 20-30 I usually guess they are fake. But some people say they are well made? I suppose it might be good for Army building the Endos?

Nice video! I'm struggling with some predators too.. Anyway, for terminator collectors, every ultimate figure sold by a online store in 2019 is FAKE, because this figures are discontinued now. So, if you have recently buyed it, no doubt, it's fake.

But, a lot of companies import the figures from Neca and put his own sticker on the box. So, if you are in Europe and want to buy some NEW Neca figure, 99% of the time has the sticker of the importing company. It's a good proof or originality.

I really like your reviews, especially the Fake Vs Real, but i need to ask, in the left corner it says 4K but the video it is only 720p?

I got the real one from COMICTOYZ and first i thought it was fake because it didnt cost as much as from neca but with the video i found out that i got the real one so thanks buddy good job :Edit lol my also got bronze grenades but he looks good and didnt break and everything is same with the real one just the grenades are like the fake

Sir, that was quite educational, so thanks a thousand times for your time and efforts! I just found out that I too have a fake and an original one this very same figure. With help of your hints, guidelines and clear takeaways, I was able to identify quite easily which one was what. The differences between both of mine (boxes and figures) are EXACTLY the same as you‘ve outlined in that video! Actually, Up until recently I didn‘t even know about so many bootlegs, copies, fakes, and also incorrectly assembled figures around, but then I am pretty naive and gullible at times. It is a real bad thing to be of honest character nowadays, as you are prone to fall into the traps set by others too quickly. Actually, I unknowingly bought the fake one first (at roughly 1/3 less price than the original one that I acquired later, though still not inexpensive). Since I wanted to have one figure displayed with the M134 Minigun (as in the movie) and another one for keeping in the unopened, original box for collectors value, I got me two. The fake one is actually not that bad, so it‘ll serve its purpose of displaying. But I consider myself lucky to have a real one, too. I will try to take much better notice from now on, although to tell whether a certain figure is original or fake is rather hard to tell, especially if it is a relatively new design or newly introduced product. NECA should start to using a clear identification so serious collectors know what to look for. Problem is that imitators probably would copy that just as well...

That's what I thought is they should do something that will stand out from the fake. That's why I was like the 1 inch tape but it seems they use different size tapes. Yeah. Its usually quality that is missing on fakes as they mosty make molds from buying the original and mass produce it. But the classic neca tmnt figures that will cost you around £400 can be bought at £35 for fakes which are alot better made and painted!

Yes so far from what I seen you can you the different heads on the different figures. Only thing would be if the hole is to small to dremel out a little to fit.

I honestly can’t tell which one I’ve got cause it’s like a mix between the paint of one or the other

Very bad luck with a bootleg figure here. I have one (aliexpress) and it's almost perfect. Also fakes are better for making faces skin smoother. And not that old and wrinkly as real Neca does. (more like T:Genisys already) Yellow grenades (by fake) - accurate to the movie. Pistol' black upper part (by fake) - accurate. Minigun should be black so both are off on that. Damaged head' green eye (by fake) is a fail. My complains on fake (in my particular case): couple of black spots on a shotgun, bad scope placing on grenade launcher, and the worst - sunglasses were moved a side a bit :x

(i mean fake Ultimate T2 figures got some changes :D) : White pistol (as real), Black hair (it was brown) Different, more 'sad' eyebrows paintjob for in-glasses head Quality control - more feedback with unhappy people with broken figure parts - For now that's all i was able to notice at feedback pictures section. If you have any interest in making Terminator: -Dark Fate- Fake vs. Real you can order another one. It would be cool. Also, an idea - old Fake vs. new Fake xD this is crazy :))

From my experience they allow people to sell fakes as genuine ie amazon link the real deal day if out of stock to a fake link on their own site. Personally I find Ebay easier to catch a fake and easier to get ya money back if ya get caught out.

A Very Easy way to tell the Difference between the Fake and the Real one between these two is the Bullet Color. One Is Good and the Other one is Silver

Well, the original is no better made in terms of facial sculptures, the original also looks poorly like Arnold Schwarzenegger, I came across copies of fakes where the facial cultures were much better executed and looked more like Arnold than the original. So the most important thing here is if you choose from fakes, then the main thing is to find yourself a good copy, and not take the first available copy of the figurine, the main thing is just to look for and request photos from sellers of fakes where it will be clearly demonstrated how the removable sculptures of heads are painted and executed and not only.

Ya, just hard when it comes to the fakes because they usually send you pre taken pictures of the bootleg. Got to find a selling that will take the time to get the upclose picture. The newer figures are so close in comparison that I stopped doing the new figures.

Neca knows how to add weathering to there plastic metals, that fake mini gun has 0 weathering paint. That fake one looks trash by the way. Thanks for the review.

Ya I made a few videos an others commented on them too. I recorded with a 4K camera and someone said the same thing. I was like i record an render in 4k i dont know what the problem is an i look an it was being rendered in 720 smh. I since then have taken off the 4K. I apologize for that. Thanks for watching

Yup but from the ones I've opened Neca skinny tape is like 1/2" compared to the fake tape is 3/4" from my experience. If you ever get a chance measure the tape an comment the size cause I'm interested in knowing the sizes are different than mine. Thanks for commenting

@@TheCollectionDimension I bought it from a reseller, at the bottom it says "966N031015" and there is also a metal wire holding the neck of the figure, regarding the paint it seems to be the original All seems to be the same as the original that you have but mine has circular tape and the metal wire on the neck But do you know if it really is original from NECA? Just watched you MICHAEL JACKSON episode and HECK YEAH I would buy the knock off for $20 instead of $150 for the real 1 especially when they are soooo so close together. I accidentally bought a fake one for $15 rather than the real one is $40+ I don’t mind it being fake because it’s still quite good quality and I just display him on my bookshelf and he works fine

So this is incredible cause neca got a lot of things wrong First I know they are just accessories but can't have that head with that figure the glasses are lost at the pescadero hospital second while bullets are not shiny gold they should be in fact golden as they are a brass like color not silver like in the neca figure weird cause the original cyberdyne showdown figure did have golden bullets great video though.

Thanks, thats why I make them. I got screwed on a expensive figure and it was fake. I was so disappointed but created this lol.

So...which do you prefere? It seems you actually prefure the counterfeit one, interestingly enough, they died his hair for T2 (& it shows) Arnie admitted as much himself, because he was greying at that time, and in these 2 versions one looks died hair the other (that I prefure) is light brown much closer to his hair colour when he did the original film. I am generally against piracy & knock off merchandice, BUT if something isnt available any more & most film merchandice isnt around for long, it can be the only way, there can be both poor quality counterfeit items & pretty good as well, also when your talking HOT TOYS & SIDE SHOW Collectable prices to buy a knock off copy for far less money, can be your only choice.

The fake one isn`t that bad really.The grenade launcher,bag and gatling gun are far better than the real ones

... But the real is not sold by any store. -_-
